McNabb Selected For Cover of Madden 06 (Box Art Included)

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – May 10, 2005 – Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that All-Pro Philadelphia Eagles and NFC Champion quarterback Donovan McNabb will appear on the cover of Madden NFL 06, the newest iteration of the EA SPORTS™ best-selling football franchise with the official videogame license of the NFL and its players. Reflecting the focus on the passing game for the first time in ten years with the all-new QB Vision Control and QB Precision Placement, McNabb is the perfect representative for the cover of the most popular football videogame franchise. Last year Madden NFL 2005 sold more than six million copies.

“This is one of the top honors in the NFL – you have truly made it when you are on the cover of Madden NFL Football,” said McNabb. “With the attention and changes they have made to the passing and the focus on the quarterback this year, it was worth the wait to be the cover guy and part of the EA SPORTS team.”

looks like they changed something with the covers/titles, usually its like Madden (nfl logo) 2005 for example and now its just 06. And I noticed it with NBA the same thing.. cool though

Brady is deserving of the cover. McNabb is just marketable. Funny, years ago these companies didn't want to have anything to do with a black man on the cover of games or endorsements (Doug Williams). Society has come a long way in this regard. Kudos.

With the "flashlight passing" that has already been touted, obviously it was going to be a qb. I wouldn't underestimate the fact that a certain very outspoken Eagle was on the cover of the competition's game last year either. IMO, putting a different Eagle on the cover of this game just rubs it in a little more.

"available in August" = All of those systems.

The PSP port comes out in September.

Maybe Brady declined, or his coach wont allow him, that could happen. So dont get down on EA if his not on any cover, because I sure they asked him at least once.

Brady could have declined, this much is possible, but his coach not allowing him? Dude, this is the NFL we're talking about, not college football. A pro athlete can endorse any damn product he wants, as long as it's within the bounds of what the players association allows.

Plus, wasn't Brady on the cover of a 989 Sports NFL game at one point?
