Forza Motorsport 4 News Post

Kotaku received a survey from an anonymous tipster, that asked for respondents' reactions to certain statements of upcoming features for Forza Motorsport 4, including head tracking and holding your hands at 10 and 2 with Kinect support.

Does this new control scheme interest you at all? I'll stick to a wheel, but the head tracking sounds very interesting. It will probably take some time to get used to, since you'll need to turn your head, while keeping your eyes straight ahead.

On of my most anticipated games for this year.

I think this is an awful idea. Kinect is a gimmick. Stop wasting time developing a gimmicky control scheme and make a better game.

it sounds interesting and terrible at the same time.. weird. it's like i'm oddly drawn to the possibility of it working decent but the smart side of my brain laughs at me and says "you idiot, this is a REAL racing game, not some kiddie wii game." so yeah.. No.

I just don't see how it could be a long term control option with Forza's physics engine. Heck, I wouldn't even want to play Mario Kart without a physical controller in my hand.

Forza is forgiving, but you still have to make precise turns and take perfect lines to compete on the Hard difficulty and/or online. I just don't see how that could ever translate with a Thin-Air control scheme.

I think it is a shame that they are working on this and generating more car porn. I want less cars, tighter physics and more balance!

Turning my head while keeping my eyes straight ahead? Are they serious with this? LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

*this is coming from somebody that loves Forza.

motion controls are gimmicks, people want to relax and have a good time. But get moved my immersive visuals and audio.

It would be great if I could have my steering wheel hooked up and could lean left or right. Kinect picks my lean up and I lean left or right, or look left or right in the dashcam view.

Sounds cool. But the Kinect support. Not interested.

Sim racer is supposed to give you the feeling of each car and it's unique physics.

Only a well made wheel can give you that combined with the game, not your hands in the air, IMO.

Is there any real options for wheels like the PS3/PC have? Or is it still slim pickings on the 360?

I don't see why you couldn't.

Also, this video shows how impressive head tracking can be with Kinect.

I am not a fan of Kinect at all so, no. I would enjoy the head tracking feature though. I am just going to stick to my wheel.
