Greatest Sports Game Ever Tournament: First Round Matchups

While voting isn't set to begin for another week, the first round matchups have been announced for the second ever greatest sports game tournament. Think of this like the NCAA Tournament bracket and look at these matchups as if they were a bracket. We'll have a visual bracket for you soon.

For now, who do you see coming out of each region? Any upsets brewing?

THPS instead of THPS2?
NFS Most Wanted and NFS 2? Out of all the NFS titles those are the two to represent?
Forza 3 and 4....isn't that the same game?
Codies is snubbed completely - not even a nod to Colin McRae Rally 2
Why Winning Eleven 9 or 6 or 7?
All Pro, Back Breaker and PES12 ... isn't there other games more deserving?

agreed that March Madness 04 should definitely be on the list. I played that game to death. Still would if my Ps2 hadn't gone south.

i think 2k5 will again over college hoops 2k8....surprises i see in first round ,mutant league football and lakers vs celtics.cinderellas....i see coach k and nba2k12,but i think 2k12 wood win it all if wasnt for online play.

Mastered the art of 2 player baseball. One player pitches, the other fields. One player hits, the other runs. Glad to see Griffey Baseball getting some love.

MVP Baseball 03 trumps MVP Baseball 05 I think.

Wow. The Tecmo region is tough. Madden 05 or Baseball Stars could win this division even though Tecmo Bowl was a wildly popular game. I also see RBI Baseball or Mike Tyson's Punch Out as a huge dark horse in the NBA 2k11 region

This is my Final 4 from the given choices.

FIFA is probably the most reliable franchise on the list but my personal fav would be NCAA Gamebreaker (late 90's)... Nothing beats those Custom Playbooks... they were light years ahead of the competition.
