MLB 14 The Show Features Online Franchise - New Screenshots and Videos From Taiwan

Operation Sports reader tedus captured a few videos from his MLB 14 The Show hands-on in Taiwan. He also grabbed a couple of screenshots showing off the new front end, which confirms online franchise.

Below are a few of his impressions, after playing for 10 minutes. More info is sure to come soon, but until then, enjoy.

The field/batting camera changed!
Presentation almost the same!
Control felt good!
Base running animation felt some different!
Fielding felt more responsive

That transition is only present in the new Dynamic camera in offense. All the other cameras (medium, High etc) function as they did last year.

There is also a new dynamic defense camera as well.

Curious to see how the new fielding cam plays out at a park like Fenway, where a lot of the action would get lost in left.

Looks the same as last year, obviously it was only like 2 min combined video, possibly early build as well

The swing animation for right handers still looks bad, like everyone is Joey Bats (it can be seen in the first video right away), and the jerseys still look pretty bad, but i kind of expected that to be the same for ps3.

Hopefully both of these are much improved on ps4

Also, want to thank the guy for the videos

The default setting is rookie! First video is someone play with CPU
& the ball trail is on

I can't play with human ! Only one controller

BTW I think it's early build ! Some players do not have real picture!& I can choose all of mlb teams & all options you can changed!

I like the comment because you say you hope it's improved on the PS4. I won't be getting the PS3 version so I'm not worried. Just watched these to see anything new.

Yeah same, i'm only getting the ps4 version so i'm not really concerned, still felt the need to point those things out though.

Eww is that a ball trail? Does the ball catch on fire during home runs too?!?!

I'm kidding. I don't like it but I'm sure that it will be disable-able just like the other 5,000 things they add.

Everything else looks great. I like the new scorebug.

I'm not going to over-analyze a user recorded video of a pre-release build on the inferior of the two consoles.

Yeah I couldn't believe that when I first saw it. Looks so arcade-y.

On a more serious note, I noticed the Pirates had no numbers on their uniforms, which leads me to think this is a very early build. Also I noticed with Boston they had a white jersey, with gray pants. Maybe this means we can finally mix and match every aspect of the uniforms this year. I'm sure the ball trail can be disabled. Everyone knows they put a million options in every year, so everyone should be able to set it up exactly like they want. Game looks great, really excited so far. Oh, and do hope they get rid of Jacoby Ellsbury's beard in the final build.
