MLB 14 The Show: Hands-On Preview Video w/New PS4 Footage

Operation Sports recently got the chance to play MLB 14 The Show on PlayStation 4. There is a lot to love about the experience, including the absolutely beautiful visuals which accompany the game. Don't get too excited about huge gameplay changes, Sony has opted to carefully move up to next-gen with the same great experience we've all grown accustomed to.

Just build on what's there. Those have been fixed on the PS3 version (read the impressions thread tabarnes did a write up it I believe) so I am sure the PS4 is going to work the same way.

Curved hats look good in he vid, they are absolutely terrible on PS3.

Coming from a guy who has always had an Xbox, these videos look amazing and I can't wait to play the show for the first time on PS4!

I got x1 day one. Said id maybe get ps4 when mlb drops(sold ps3 to put money towards x1). Def gonna get ps4. Game looks great!! And the overhead fly-in of the stadiums sounds cool. Similar to triple play 96 or 97 i believe.

Looks that way and the liberty bell home run animation is once again wrong too.

O well maybe they will finally get these right in MLB 15 The Show.

Game still looks breathtaking on the PS4!

After the first game you play of the show, you will be left wondering why you wasted so much time playing the 2k series on the xbox. Its really that much better. Before my wife and I moved in together she had a ps2 at her place and since I didn't want to bring my 360 over there I decided to pick up a cheap used copy of the show 09, and I couldn't believe on how much better the show was on the ps2 than the 2k series on the 360. After that I bought a ps3 just for the show.

This is exactly what i wanted. Im happy to hear the gameplay is the same, especially it being its first year on PS4. Why gamble and mix things up?

Seeing this new PS4 footage and watching the O's offense finally break out is really making my day! This game is gonna be a great early birthday present.

Listening to the video, and having played the PS3 version. I think has tempered my expectations to the point where I don't think I will be disappointed. Looking forward to the game none the less.

That's cause it is. No denying it's a beautiful game but a little disappointed with the character models and animations, or lack there of. Still not gonna stop me from taking the day off work and going to the midnight sale at gamestop.

Looking good!

I'll say I expected the animations to be a bit smoother and the cloth to move better, but close enough.

I'll wait to play it before I run out & buy a PS4.
