You used to get the free packs of cards for just pre-ordering the game. Now you have to pay 10 bucks. Fu$$ing Micro transactions.

Given the large amount of packs that they are offering (30 for Madden, 40 for FIFA, 50 for NHL), I would compare these offers more to the Season Ticket promotion that EA used to run on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 than any of the company's previous pre-order deals.

This is basically the same thing as Season Ticket, only without the weekend early release program and the year-long DLC discount.

who gives a **** about packs of cards? that's not ultimate. it's the worst misnomer since the halloweeen candy was labeled "Fun Size". it should be called terrible microtransaction ripoff scam to get you to pay a bunch of money for fake cards in your video game.

It's time to add custom options for accessories, real authentic accessories, and the passing players wear under the pads for shock absorption. We wrote Shock pads under our shoulder pads. And neck pads to reduce the head from snapping back, and for looks. That house collar is so effin. 80's they seem to only think face masks are hot. Bring back the colored visors too.

Damn we need a new developer.
As a die-hard hockey fan, I completely disagree with your "wide list of authentic equipment choices" statement. Sure, there are a few of the absolute newest helmets, gloves, etc. available on NHL. But, in recent years, they've completely removed all of the equipment that's more than a year old. Therefore, as a Penguins fan for example, I have to play with two of the best players in the game (Crosby and Malkin) wearing helmets that look nothing close to what they wear in real life. Most of the players don't wear their real equipment, because for no reason EA decided to take it out of the game. In Madden, you can still wear the old-style Riddell helmets from 20 years ago. So, Madden has more "authentic" choices that you see on the field than NHL. By far.

I wish people would just stop spending money on this UT crap. But they won't.

Why are people so up in arms about spending less than 50 cents per pack? If you don't play UT, don't worry about it. If you do play UT, this is dirt cheap.

There are so many ways people (myself included) waste money on a daily basis. Spending .5 dollars on a pack of UT cards once a month isn't even close to the top of the list. If UT cards are your worst money sink you deserve a medal.
