EA Sports UFC 2 News Post

The EA Sports UFC 2 closed beta is scheduled to release on Thursday, January 28 and ending on February 4 for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The closed beta is only available to gamers that own the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of EA Sports UFC and live in North America.

This is a closed beta and is only eligible to fans who own Xbox One or PlayStation 4 and are EA SPORTS UFC owners in North America. For those of you that meet those requirements, make sure you register here. Quite a few people are having problems registering at the moment, most getting the "Sorry, you are not eligible to participate in the beta at this time" message. We have contacted EA about the issue and will update this post when we hear anything back. Once it is up and running without any issues, you will have until January 21 at 10:00 AM PT to register, for a chance to receive a code.
  • The download will be roughly 11 GB
  • The exact time will vary based on platform and region
  • You will not be able to pre-load the beta
Game Modes in Closed Beta

Quick Fight
  • Featuring the deepest roster of any fighting simulation, select fighters from the Welterweight division and step into the Octagon for a 3 or 5 round bout.
UFC Ultimate Team
  • Create your team of up to five fighters using UFC 2’s deep customization options. Compete in online or offline competitions to progress your fighters and earn Coins that open packs which deliver special items used to sculpt your team into the most explosive in the UFC.
Practice Mode
  • A no-consequences environment designed to let you master the basics of striking, grappling and clinch-work at your own pace before putting your skills to the test in real competition.
Skill Challenges
  • Dive into all-new mini-games to help players learn and perfect stand-up, clinch, and ground disciplines.
Other notes from the FAQ:

Can I play online against other players?

The EA SPORTS UFC 2 beta will support online play. You can throwdown against (1) online opponent in a 1 vs. 1 fight.

Will I be able to customize my fighter in the beta?

Yes. In UFC Ultimate Team you can create your own team of custom fighters. After each fight, win or lose, earn Coins to open Fight Packs that contain items that improve your fighters. These items allow you to customize your fighter by giving them unique moves, attributes, perks and more.

Will my UFC Ultimate Team stats carry over to the main game?

No, any stats or progression during the beta will not carry over to the full game when EA SPORTS UFC 2 launches in March 2016. However the skills you learn through this beta will!

Will I have to re-create my Ultimate Team when EA SPORTS UFC 2 launches on March 15?

Yes, teams created in the beta will not carry over to the full game.

Eligible, registered. Bought UFC1 digital on XB1 for $13 like a month before it went into the vault

edit: never opted into the newsletter either

I have it for XB1 and I also got the ineligible page. I also opted in exactly on the 9th so I don't know if I got it.

I just did a live chat with EA. See below for what they told me. If this is true than..... I mean..... F this game lol. I meet all the qualifications and registered prior to Jan 9th.

EA: Thank you for patiently waiting. I would like to inform you that the details are not available regrading this, but you can refer https://www.easports.com/ufc/news/2016/beta-faq
YOU: Ok so you're telling me I meet all the qualifications but i'm ineligible and there is no explanation as to why?
YOU: I dont follow
EA: I am sorry for the late reply.
EA: I was discussing with my superiors that if it is possible to share the beta code with you, but we don't have the permission to do this.
EA: Only the studio team can generate the codes, unfortunately they have not selected your account for this we won't be able to do much from our end.

EA chat support is notoriously bad lol. I wouldn't take anything they say as fact

Also ineligible, have a PS Store digital copy. Signed up for the list in time (on the 8th) and got the "Thanks for Signing Up" email, though I didn't update my privacy preferences until just now after a talk with the lousy phone support. I would think I'd be OK since I got the signup confirmation, though?

Seems like there's something missing, especially since the original push to opt-in made it seem like we WOULD get a code and not a CHANCE for a code. Left a message for EA PR, dunno if they'll get back to me.

So one had to opt in? Damn, guess i missed this

If you are having issues registering, try this. It worked for me. Let me know if it works for you.

Go here.

Click Sign Out in the upper right of the page.

Close the tab or browser.

Open your browser and go back to https://www.easports.com/ufc/beta

Sign in and it should work.

Tried it...no dice. Same page about not being eligible.

I didn't get an e-mail either today, so I take that as a sign that my opt-in somehow didn't process, and I don't think any amount of login tricks will change that.

At least I'm not the only one in this boat apparently...better chance of it being fixed that way.

What was the point in opting in before the 9th then? Was it just a sneaky way to get people to sign-up for the newsletter? If so, that was pretty damn clever.

Yeah been trying this, hasn't worked. Oh well looks like I'll be waiting until March

I didn't get an email either. Try it from another browser?

So this wasn't the right thing and I won't be able to play? So angry right now

No such luck for me, unfortunately.

That is exactly what this feels like. I really hope they make this right

I opted in after the 9th and just got registered. That's not the issue. Hopefully you guys get it worked out!

I'm in the same exact boat as you. Feel like we're missing some details, though, or there was bad internal communication.

Hoping they at least send codes to the media list.

# 37 ERA @ 01/14/16 05:34 PM
I tried it on an email that I didn't opt-in with before the 9th and it still let me in.

# 38 jb12780 @ 01/14/16 05:52 PM
I have UFC 1 for the Xbox, I live in NA, I opted in on the 9th, my origin/EA email are the same, and it says I'm still eligible. Even the EA chat guy said I'm eligible.

# 39 jeremym480 @ 01/14/16 05:57 PM
I'm in

I'm trying to think of reasons why some are having trouble. My only suggestion is to make sure that your Origin account email was the account that you signed up with... and also the main PSN account that you played the game with. Just saying this because I had multiple Origin/PSN accounts thanks to the CAF limits.

I also wonder if it has something to do with playing online. I played online some when the game first came out. Did the guys who are getting the Illegible messages ever play online? I'm just trying to find a common denominator.

# 40 ERA @ 01/14/16 06:01 PM
Just curiously, were you supposed to receive an email today saying that you're in? I didn't receive an email. It just said I'm good to go on the site.
