just a simply observation, but I'm curious on how popular DD actually is, that it warrants changes or refinements every year since every year SCEA gives it, its own special stream. However, like every year its one of the least popular threads here when new info comes out on it. Just makes it seem like its not a very popular or used feature amongst people here at OS.

I used to think/wonder the same thing however, we OSers need to remember how small a part of the customer base we are. For starters, theshownation DD forums are far more active than the one here. Second, as someone who regularly reads comments on the MLB the show FB page, I have been struck by how often people are asking about something in the game that Ramone or others have answered on here (or Twitter), which leads me to believe that their are many people who don't post here, but do buy the game, play DD, etc.

We have to remember that SDS uses telemetry data and knows how much each mode gets played, weighs the cost/time investment in each area and reacts accordingly. I think, for the most part, they hit all the areas very well (I know online franchisers are not gonna agree, but...In general).

Speaking for myself, I totally got sucked in to playing offline DD. I love the missions and I look forward to all the new stuff they are rolling out this year. I still intend on playing franchise, but I dig DD too!

You said Events are going to last one week? That means you'll need to win 60 3-inning games in one week? Thats like 10 a day.

I hope the events last longer than that.

I'm almost exclusively franchise. I messed with DD only to create my own team, logos and uniforms and played a few games just to see how it looked. I think it is popular for people looking for a less traditional way to play the game. I've played thousands of games in franchise and maybe 10 games tops in DD but if nobody played it they wouldn't include it in the game.

Like said above OS is a small percentage of the MLB show players and seems to be more franchise rtts types. If you go on the reddit fourms for the show it is pretty much all DD that I have seen.

Don't franchise and RTTS get pretty much their own stream also? But also I see DD being able to expand endlessly compared to other modes.

I'm a franchise first but got into DD for the first time last year and am really excited for it this year H2H was really good and I didn't run into too many exploiters

If I remember correctly (not 100%), but it was mentioned a few years ago that DD is one of the most played modes in the Show. It's more popular than franchise mode.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I only come here when it comes to "the show", i honestly didn't think there would be many other popular forums for the show outside of here and the shownation (how closed off am i? Lol). But yeah, just one of those things where you keep seeing it evolve more and more each year, and then look at the forums here about the latest improvement and its the least talked about. I've always been a franchise guy and barely find time to get through it before the next years game comes out. Then i see people on here that do franchise, rtts, and DD and i'm sitting like where do you find the time??

Thank you for the breakdown. Been following all of them!! One thing I've heard discussed elsewhere is the issue of the created player in DD. I agree with others who have voiced the opinion that it needs to do. I simply don't use it...pretend it's not there, as I think it's very unbalancing. As for everything else in DD I'm very much looking forward to it!! Oh, one other thing....they need a more detailed search feature. There is no way to search on particular attributes...like a great fielder or a power hitter. Since everything is probably in a database anyway I don't think it would be hard to implement...only question is how it can be presented without the screen being too busy. But that's something I'm sure their UI developers can figure out.

OS represents less than 1% of our consumer base.

Or the worst...considering all the requests haha. Goes to show (see what I did there) what a great bunch of guys the devs at SCEA are for going to such greath lengths for less than 1% of their consumer base.
