Sweet Bubbles = Force Field Defender.
Typically known in the game as a "bubbler" (much like an Empathy Defender is known as a "healer")

I believe we all were creating alternate characters at one time for fun, and we all ended up making female characters, some with wacky names.

My wacky female character was a Scrapper named Foxxy-Coco.

Funny how in game some people assume the character they see represents the person at the keyboard. I used to get on LOTS of pickup teams early on with Gail-Force, and had people think I was female IRL.

It's been a weird couple of days for me. #1, played more during the day than at night because of SNOW DAYS!!! #2, I already got tired of playing Streak...now I'm growing tired of Bubbles as well. Actually played some FOF this week as well. :)

I hear ya...All I feel like I'm doing lately is portal missions to fight AV's.

I checked out some missions in Firebase Zulu the other day and that zone is quite interesting. Not for the vertically challenged, it's probably one of the most different zones in the game. My level 40-50 SO vendor is there. Checked out the Rtkti crash site also...still to low for stuff in that area. Haven't been to the Hive yet.

Gail dinged to 42 almost simultanelously as Shockwav hit level 50.

Had to rebuild my PC all day Sunday and had CoH patched and ready to roll in the afternoon but spent the rest of the day getting it all back to normal. The last few nights have been family time. The week or so I was off for christmas helped me appreciate the game again but it can be tiresome with the same old same old.

Issue 3 did nothing to enhance gameplay. They basically tweaked a few classes and added a new island. Game play still 100% the same. This next issue (4) better concentrate on adding variety. By this time I would have thought a) Matrix Online would be live and b) Matrix Online would be better. None of the 2 are true. :(

Sorry to hear that, Bone (Claw). I've gotten to like the game again playing Bubbles. She's level 30, and I did her aura, SO store, and 3rd costume missions this morning. I think the thing that got me on Streak was constantly being in debt and being level 39. I can't do missions (still have Envoy up, but Don and I died on that one a few weeks ago), and street hunting is pretty boring.

CoH, surprisingly for me, has still not yet lost my interest. Not sure why really, maybe it's because I need something to fall back on when MxO acts up and isn't playable. But I was on for a few hours yesterday with Gail looking for the elusive snow-beasties that are rumored to be in Paragon...couldn't find any...maybe it's not live yet.

Jumped in with Translectron to fight with Sweet Bubbles and Averros a little bit. Discovered (against what I wanted to believe) that I just can't slot my blasts with all damage....I still miss to much. So went and put a couple of Accuracy enhancements in and voila, things are much better for Trans's blaster side of things. SweetB discovered one of the effects of my Transfusion power yesterday when he/she noticed the Boss had no END left, yet we both always had pretty much full END. That's the "trans" part in Translectron. Transfer their stuff to us.

Well, if this thread slows up or dies from lack of interest in CoH in the future, I may see some of you on the other side of the looking glass.

I hope it doesn't dry up. I got two badges this morning, can't remember what they are. One for the frostlings and one for the big frost giant. I saw them in Terra Volta and a group of us took two of the giant frost monsters down.

naw...don't worry about penolope...I was private chatting with her...she was finding it amusing. She said she can't believe she soloed for so long and missed all this interaction and bantering...she says its fun to get in the game now and play with other people....a good break from work and dealing with her kids.

BTW, tonight...GI and I will be on to power level you...it's a game-fest night at the "House of a Thousand Bio's". I'm bringing my PC over to his place tonight immediately after work for a full night of gaming. We may be in MxO for a little bit early on, but will be on CoH for most of the night. Send a tell to Raula or Bio911 in MxO if you don't see us in CoH...otherwise...see you in Paragon City.

Funny that some people just found out that penolope is really a women. She is a great player and person though. Glad I found her and shockwav one night in a pickup team. Now both are in the SG. Was teaming up with Don, Aucoin, and Penolope friday. We got hit pretty hard. While some were rezzing in the hallway, I decided to take Gail back into the thick of things to keep the baddies from going back down the hallway. Phase Shift can be a wonderful thing.

Paragon Cleaner Corps is the new name, we combined with another Supergroup because of low turnout. Still on Victory. Most of us are approaching the top limit for level. Still having a blast. :)

There was a homo guy I played with the other day on a pickup team that had a pink thong on. I made a bunch of gay jokes like he would fit in with the Carnies well.

Good news - resolved the PC issues that were problematic earlier in week when I was dropping every 30 seconds.

Bad news - very little time for any gaming.

Don seemed to attract some of the more bizarre heroes back in the day when he was running around shirtless ... never have been quite sure what to make of that.

Foxxy Coco made an appearance in the SG last night. The 6 foot tall black woman with a lesson to teach to all villans that disrespect their momma was kicking some ass and taking names later with Penolope and Aucoin (mostly was a "for shits and giggles mission"). Jumped two levels in one mission (*sigh*, if only leveling was that easy higher up).

T'was a fun night. Aucoin is 6 bulbs away from 49. Then the fight for the big 5 0 comes. Maiden Io is 27 now. SG seems to always have around 8 people on during the night. Seems membership has gone way down from people who visit this forum.

I'm contributing to the lack of FOFC membership as of late. Both the personal and professional lives have kicked up in a big way over the last month. This is the first month that I have felt like I haven't gotten $15 of use out of the game.

Sorry I missed most of the crew on Saturday morning. Guess I caught one of those rare times from about 9-11AM CST. Pen came on towards the tail end of my session and we fought Level 53/54 carnies. Love those guys ...

In other news, I'm looking at new computers now. I'm going to be packing that guy with at least 2GB of memory (8x what I have right now) so the slow zoning should be a thing of the past about one minute after I finish downloading all the COH patches.

After the trial period, you have to buy the game if you want to keep playing. I'm not sure that there is any option other than that (thus the trial version). Agreed. Things are slowing down. I think I might stay on until CoV, but most likely will be hanging it up when Matrix comes out. I might come back if CoV is good. Almost played this game a year and I feel the value was great. There are a whole bunch of single players games I have been neglecting because of CoH. :)

I think that this is slowly going away. I looked to see if Bonegavel had been on lately, and it's been over a week. Sad to say, too, because he was one of the good guys in the SG. I think that after I hit 50 with Streak, I may be hanging this one up. It's a fun, fun game but it does suck my life away like MUDs did in the 90s. With three kids I need to start spending a little more time with them or it's "Cat's in the Cradle" for me.sorry about that. This last month+ has been rough.

Between family being projectile vomiting/shitting sick to my wife's grandmother passing to me putting my back out to work requiring me until late night, it hasn't been a fun time.

I've been on the last few days, but the post 40 game is drudgery unless you are with a big group and I don't get that too often.

Matrix Online has disappointed me too. I must have downloaded 6 trillion megaflops for that game and I still can't log in for more than a few minutes until my eyes bleed.

Wow, been awhile since I have seen this thread. I haven't played CoH in about three weeks now and not regularly in the last two months. Work got tremendously busy and I just got to a point where I was diverted by other activities during my free time. Poker, NCAA hoops, and pretty much whatever diverted my attention at that given moment. I'm still looking to have one last marathon session before cancelling my account, but I'm not sure when that will be. Probably the day that the Illini get knocked out of the tournament, as I'll be despondant and looking for some mindless fun.

What has kind of sucked lately is that the SG will be on but the ranges the team are such that you can't get everyone close and because of the purple patch people are always left out of in the cold.

I'm still amazed that a game like this has kept my attention for this long.

I miss you guys playing. I've been working pretty hard to get to level 49 and I'm about 4 bubs away from 50. Post-50, I'm not sure how much I'll keep playing. I think the only thing keeping me playing is getting to 50. The fun part of this was when the SG would get on and we'd team together. I realize that I'm part of the problem, since my nights have been taken up with reality TV.

I'll have to say sorry too. I've been busy with MBA and new GF. There are also about 5 single player games I would like to get into and get my money's worth. I'd like to have one more slug fest with everyone before I cancel though. I might come back briefly for CoV, but when summer hits I plan on being outside more. It has been a great run! Oh, C.J. Well, I haven't been to C.J. (Gail-Force's website in a while) so I found this message earlier today:

Sorry no updates on this...it unfortunately looks as though my CoH days might be over.
I've been dilligently beta-testing The Matrix Online...and being that I'm an obsessed fan of the Matrix content, once this game comes out I will most likely no longer play City of Heroes. I have a wife and a kid, and promised that I wouldn't play more than one MMO (or game for that matter) at a time, simply because it takes up too much of my personal time and I can't have a healthy family with more than one game at a time.

MxO is a fantastic game. It's similar in a lot of ways to CoH, but different in more ways. It's got a lot of growing pains to get through, bugs to work out, and has to still prove itself in the industry...but nonetheless, I'm a fan of the content and the story, and will stick to it through all the way.

So to any CoH friends I've made along the way that I most likely won't interact with anymore...I wish you luck in your superhero fighting and hope you all reach level 50.

I don't think I'll be jumping ship to MxO. I played it, I don't like it, and I think I'll cancel my MxO account. From the number of days that others have not been on, I think it's safe to say that our half of the SG is pretty much dead. I think I'm going to jump ship to another SG, but I'll add you guys to my friends list. It was fun playing together for the past nine months or so. Take care guys.
