Dang it- I entered a bunch but it didn't save some of them so 3 teams aren't done. I'll finish the rest out tomorrow night or tomorrow morning if I feel really ambitious but it's likely I'll be really tired instead.

Go over and check to make sure you got the right players. If I made an error and entered the wrong player, then pick up the player via waivers as that player is rightfully yours. However, don't wait- once the season starts, nothing can be done- so make sure you got Eric and not Endy Chavez on your team.

I don't think it's all that hard. Even with the extra rest this week, I'll be at 26 IP after tonight and Jeeber will be close to that, too. And that's with 4 days to go. You don't get to pick and choose your spots as much- basically, you have to pitch your entire rotation at least once and then lean on an ace or two for a second start.

I started the season 0-16 'cause I didn't know we needed 40 IP so my 1st place after three weeks is pretty impresive.

I really thought that was updated when an owner logged on, at least, thats what it was in yahoo last year.

This year, it looks like they changed it b/c I'm logged in and the date and time doesn't update.

Two months gone in the Hardcore league and the top 3 teams are starting to separate a little from the pack as the Dog Pound, Fat Bastards, and Jays continue to lead the league. The difference between a playoff spot and staying home right now is a mere 0.5 points as that's all that separates 6th and 7th place while 11th place is only 10 points out still so there's lots of room and time for movement.

There are a couple of teams who haven't made moves in 2 weeks but, as we saw before, that doesn't mean they haven't been checked as one of those is the league leading Dog Pound tho the other is last place Name Withheld.

No trades yet, but that should change shortly as teams have a better handle on what they have and need now that we're getting into the meat of the season.

The top four from last time have reshuffled but are still in the top 4 spots. Big Raf Machine has vaulted from 10th to 5th and Jockitch from 9th to 6th, putting both in playoff spots. The teams formerly in those spots, Big Mac's Special Sauce and Bearcats have falled to 7th and 8th but are only 1.5 and 3.5 points out of the playoffs.

Like the other league, only one inactive and that's last place Name Withheld. 14 weeks down, 8 to go until the playoffs and the trade deadline is about 5 away.

Not that I was super-active beforehand, but please accept my apologies for the near-total abandonment of my team.

I've spent the last six weeks or so shuffling back and forth between Toronto and DC moving, starting a new job, etc. I've been without a computer for some extended periods, and without my family for most of that time, so things have been a little hectic.

We are moved now, however, and slowly settling in. I actually have internet access in my own house, and my own computer to work from. It wouldn't appear that I have a lot left to play for, but I will try to be more active in the 2nd half.

Four weeks to go in the regular season and 2 until the trading deadline. There are technically 3 teams who haven't made an active move in a couple of weeks, according to the league: Fat Bastards, Name Withheld, and Troy Trojans. Tho, as we have seen in the past, that doesn't necessarily mean those teams are inactive.

After falling last month, Big Macs Special Sauce and Bearcats are back with a vengeance, ranking in at #3 and #5. Big Raf Machine has fallen from 5th to out of the playoffs at 7 but only half a point out. Jockitch has also fallen out of a playoff spot and to get back in, they and Butch Wynegar for HOF have some work to do. I think Name Withheld is officially eliminated at this point but that's it, tho Fremont Firebirds and Troy Trojans would have to pull off some huge upsets down the stretch to make it.

Dang it- I had some nice writeup all ready to go and then the database error goes and eats it up so I guess here's the Cliff's notes version:

-Lumber ends Jockitch's string of upsets to take the title
-Big Mac's Special Sauce gets a bittersweet 3rd as he would have beaten both teams in the finals and wasn't there because of Jockitch's 8-7 upset the week before
-Fremont takes the consolation bracket while Troy takes 9th in an 8-8 match decided by tiebreakers
-All teams were active save for Name Withheld due to reasons given above

Rules musings- looking for feedback:
-35 IP worked well once people got used to it: made pitching depth a necessity but not overwhelming; pondering idea of 2-week games for next season with 70 IP limit
-5 bench spots were pretty good but left little talent in FA pool except injured players; maybe switch to weekly roster changes rather than daily to eliminate or temper need for Monday/Thursday subs and drop bench spots to 4 and DL to 1
-8x8 was probably too much as I never cared about fielding and if I won it was incidental and if I lost I didn't care- anyone feel the same; pitching was a little too K-based tho there's an argument that can be made that strikeouts best measure the worth of a pitcher however it's not a perfect correlation

Hm... we'd have to race to get in the draft at this point. Last year we started Feb 20 and barely made it. We'll have to go with 4~6 hour wait times or something this draft, if we do it. Head count as to who is interested? If there's enough interest in the next day or so, I'll create a thread.

Ok, I'll get this set up tonight when I get home from work. We've got 6 right now, looking for 12 total and preference goes to those who were in last year. I'll probably tweak the rules a little based on what did and didn't work last year (7x7 or 6x6 instead of 8x8, weekly roster changes, etc). Anyone with suggestions- try to post them today.
