Honestly, if Farrah wasn't my wife and I could maybe get potential kudos for protecting her, I probably would have selected to protect Oliegirl on the 3rd night.
Sorry dear, I have a headache tonight. :p

I am curious for feedback. Obviously it seems like the game was inbalanced but I'm not sure it was.
I don't think so. Like RA said, JeHeinz was the star. I will say that had you not chosen me as the BG and Farrah as the groom, it's doubtful the third night would have had the right block. I really had no good information on who the groom was and just guessed Farrah for self-preservation reasons (in real life). Had I protected Olie or RA and she gotten killed in night 3, it would have been my a*% after it was recapped that I could have saved her and blew it :p

I didn't have a role, just ordinary villager/wedding guest...that is why I was so surprised when Pass pulled his vote and put it on me, I thought for sure I was going to be killed that night after it came back as a tie/no one leaves.
So is this the shortest game in WW history? Mad props to JE for killer seeing abilities! Sorry I doubted you!!!

I also have to throw a shout out to mauboy who was right on and clap who saved me. :)
Woot!
I don't remember what it was but I had a feeling with DT early on and another feeling that Heinz WAS indeed the seer and that's why I followed him the second day.
I love this game. Wish we could've gotten a major though.

If one of us gets lynched that day this may have been a slightly different game, but Heinz's luck really made it unfair in the end. No way this game was lost, really.

The only way we would have won is if I would have protected Farrah in week 2. Then, she could have used her protect in week 3 and I could have protected her again in week 4. But, given I didn't know she was the groom, I didn't vote to protect her until week 3 (which meant we were cooked anyway you slice it).

well, there was also the small chance the wolves wouldn't go after her again tonight, but that wasn't true at all...

I think if the game somehow kept going, I would've been lynched at some point. I played too strong or something. Just trying to get stuff started it seemed to work to an extent. Crazy luck played a bigger part.

I don't think the game was imbalanced at all. It was just crazy luck for the good guys. Hard to beat that. I don't think a WW game has yet been designed that can't be undone by a bad run of luck. Hell, you remember my Ripper game, where you yourself got screwed by luck. That whole game went to hell for the same reason.
FWIW, I really enjoyed the experience. Thanks for running it!

BK/CR - Did you all pickup on me being the drama queen before my fake reveal, or no?
Yes. I noted on Day One that you switched from Barkeep to Pass in the same voting post. I figured you wouldn't mention me because you knew I wouldn't be around until after the deadline. I also thought you were playing more out in the open at the start, perhaps to attract "attention".
Incidentally, I also had clap pegged for a role after his missed deadline comment early on Day Two, and he was the backup kill if I was lynched and took Farrah with me. Of course, we didn't think the game would end with the lynch.

Oh, I should also note that BK and Pass were hot on Farrah even before we went after her (and were groom-blocked) because of her bridesmaid comment. Didn't want to hog the credit. We had three good, veteran wolves here.
Too bad luck and some good seer calls really just bowled us over.

Well, that was a disappointing result for the villagers. There was no reason that you couldn't have taken a major victory, specially with the way things played out.

Given the wolves knew the groom in day 2, I'd say it was almost impossible to get a major victory. Heck, we were lucky enough to get a groom block on the second night and a bodyguard block on the third night. But, they were going to remove the groom early on regardless of our play. The only way to save Farrah would have been for me to protect her in night 2, she blocks in 3 and I protect her again in night 4. But that's a lot to ask when I didn't know she was the groom.
Thanks for running the game, Lathum!
Agreed, it was fun.

Good game folks! At least we got the win, I guess that's job A1.
I'm a little bummed that all those scans didn't produce a win for us, but thems the breaks. Knowing now that Arles was the BG and basically knew that major victory was virtually impossible, it makes sense that it went down like it did.
I was just so surprised that it was DT of all people who fake revealed, as I said, he was the one person I thought was cleared.
I don't really know how I could've played it any differently. I almost revealed on Day 3 if only to have the wolves possibly stop trying for the groom and to come after me, but all I had then was that BK was a wolf and DT was a guest. I didn't think it was worth it.
Good game Lathum, thanks!

01-18-2008, 08:02 AM
OK, I ended the game tonight because there is no way the wolves could have won.
I have been playing werewolf since the first ever FOFC game and I have never seen such a crazy run of luck.
Jeheinze scanned BK night 1, DT night 2 and CR night 3. In that time Pass was eliminated. To compound things the wolves kill attempt on Farrah night 2 was blocked because she was the groom. Then when they went back the next night to kill her Arles selected her for protection.
Let's not skip over that I would've scanned Pass too had he not gotten lynched! :D

I think it was a good game Lathum, I just got, for the most part, lucky on my scans. I could've just as easily picked someone else on Day One (though my other hunch was CR then, so in this case it may have been no different)

I too think the game was just fine. JH just was on a roll. Nothing you can do there.
Barkeep49
01-18-2008, 08:58 AM
I should also add that excepting the blocked kill on night 3, we were feeling pretty good.
Day 1 we identified DT and knocked out Render who always wants to lynch me.
Day 2 we survive
Day 3 we know who the groom is
Day 4 DT fake reveals to buy us sometime.
Really if JH hadn't nailed everybody we might have had a chance here.

Man...everytime you voted with that "vite" I wondered what it meant, and almost posted on your inability to spell/type like 3 or 4 times. I ended up figuring you'd misspelled it once and then it just stuck so you misspelled it on purpose or something. NO idea you were sending clues!!! Sorry!
