I'd suggest all patriotic Oct 2000 people ignore defense and simply go for continual expansion - clustered attackers can swamp existing squares - BUT if we keep expanding then it doesn't matter too much as we'll continually gain ground and by concentrating on certain targets we can eventually take out the more troublesome months ... which in turn should help us model the forthcoming utopia that is a blanket of Oct 2000 :D

From what I saw we got whomped (by just about everyone - damn bullies ;) ) ...

Jul 01 got the blocks as that was the date with the most amount of attackers hitting us.

Its left us in a very very good position as we're now fairly protected from attacks and continue our plots for world domination without attracting so much unfriendly attention (at least initially).

Tactic for me for this round is to ensure that we gain a 'safe' square - chances are we'll lose our homebase either this round or next again, this will put us in a safe situation again by limiting the attackers which can hit us for a short-time.

Where possible we need to try and get to a position where our old homebase acts as a buffer and we can expand by NOT taking it back - this way we can creep across the board only being attacked by a limited amount of people.

If we continually 'swamp' the board by regaining our homebase then eventually enough months will be able to hit us at once that we might not get enough intertia to take a square leaving us homeless and ending the potential for a yearly Utopia of Oct 2000 ... ;)
