War trophies line the wall.. and the figure risks a couple seconds to glance at some of them from his now disappeared homeland. Then he shakes himself, kind of like a wet dog, throwing off the glamour of his memories and removes the backpack on his back.

He pulls out a cylindrical devicem anbd with quick, practiced moves, flicks four switches. a Digital counter blinks to light and starts counting down from 05:00.. 04:59.

He wishes he could do it during October 2000's victory parade, at the greatest moment of their triumph. But there would be too many guards. Too many people who would recognize this, the face of their most passionate enemy. So he stands and waits.

A mad bit of laughter starts to burble from his lungs. They thought he was gone, gone for good. But their victory would be hollow. He had promised that, and like an avenging ghost, he would strike. October 2000 may have put their foot on the throat of FOFC, but they couldn't conquer their spirit. Someday, the other months would rise up and over throw the fucking elitists. Who knows, maybe they'd remember this grand blow, this final gesture of defiance, and it would spark a thousand future rebellions.

Or maybe, somehow, October 2000 would manage to beat down the rest of the months to a point where there could be no comeback. Then it would be best to be the final one with the spirit to resist. For a world controlled by them would be a dead world. No improvisation, no spirit.. they would turn upon themselves, in the name of the trout and the squid, but they would always feast on the bones of past glories.

The laughter came louder and strong as the final seconds ticked away. So loud, in fact, that one guard became an unknowing witness to armegeddon. The guard opened the door, and watched, dumbfounded, as the man, lost to paroxysms of wild laughter, pointed to the digital clock.

The guard reached out, as if to deny this final bit of revenge, but he was too late.

The palace was vaporized in an atomic fireball. up to a mile away, there was only a few battered structures, nearly destroyed in the blast. Fallout would contaminate the area for years to come.

Just an idea .... allow months surrounding a month to provide 'support' by defending their neighbour instead of attacking, this would allow weaker months to band together and defend against a big-beast (who in turn would find it harder to find backup in a similar manner).
