I'm pulling for the Seahawks but I have serious doubts about their ability to overcome that tough Steeler defense and I don't think they can put pressure on Big Ben. But I'm rooting for them!
I'll be at home with the family, but the FOFC is just a laptop connection away.

I would love to see Pittbsburgh get an early lead, no one plays with a lead better than they do. It would also provide us a lot of Bus time while they're grinding away.
And I think the Seahawks have the second ugliest uniforms ever (current Bengals are #1), so i'll root against them on principle.

Let's just all throw our predictions in here, see who's closest.
I'll stick with the conventional - I don't have a strong feeling this will be the traditional Super Bowl blowout.
I don't think Seattle has an answer to Roethlisberger's downfield passing attack while Pittsburgh can be so much more than sending Porter from the outside. Seattle has more talent overall, but the better defense will win the game. Pittsburgh, 24-17.

I'm rooting for Seattle, because I feel they've been getting no respect, but I wouldnt' care if Pittsburgh wins (I don't feel strongly for either team). I do think it'd be hilarious if Seattle won in a blow out after all the talk this week.
However, I think both teams score in the 20. I'm going Seattle 28 - Pittsburgh 20.

Seattle has the highest scoring offence in the NFL this year. I just don't see any way that the Steelers can slow down both the run and the pass of Seattle. They will shut one of them down and will be killed by the other.
Seattle had the 4th best scoring defence in the NFL this year, and they were even better in the postseason. Seattle won't completly stop Pittsburgh, but they will limit Roethlisberger greatly.
In the end Seattle wins in a blowout, 45-20

The Steelers had a great run in the playoffs, but they were a #6 seed for a reason. They are not some unstoppable force. There are plenty of examples of how to beat them. Seahawks get up a score or two early, start handing it off to Alexander, and the Steelers' gameplan falls apart.

If the Seahawks win, would consider them to be the best team in the NFL this season? Even after beating the NFC #6, NFC #5 and the AFC #6?

Always up for debate. But no one really cares about the "best" team, they just care who won the Super Bowl.
The Colts were the best team in the regular season, the Steelers have been the best postseason team so far. The Seahawks have yet to impress me.

So if (and yes, it's a big IF) Seattle wins today, they'll have won 14 out of 15 games to close out the year. Even having a "soft" regular season schedule, they would have stepped up and beat a tough Washinton D without the MVP for a majority of the game, beat a Carolina team with a great D and a guy many were starting to say *should* have been league MVP (and if that block in the back flag doesn't get picked up, that game is even more lopsided), then defeated the first team to ever beat the #1, #2 and #3 seeds to get to the Superbowl (including, of course, the ONLY team in the NFL that had a better record than Seattle), and yet a lot of people (as evidenced by some sentiments in this thread) will consider them lucky/fluke/paper champions?
I personally won't have that difficult of a time with it as I'll be much more concerned with just celebrating the fact that they won, but I just can't understand the reasoning behind so much apparent distasted for Seattle's achievements this year.
That all said, I'm calling 24-20 for the Seahawks today. The defense once again manages to bend but not break when it really matters. Matt Hasselbeck for MVP after a late, 80+ yard drive to win the game.

My head says Steelers 27-26. I truly believe the Steelers offense matches up better against the Seahawks D than vice versa. I think the Steelers can just out-muscle the Seahawks in the running game.
My heart hopes Seahawks win. I have no problem with all the trash talk from the Steelers (hey I AM a Hurricanes fan :D ) But you can't trash talk one minute and then try to pass yourself as noble gentlemen the next. If you are a trash talker, trash talk with pride! ;)

"HeadsTails"
Just a little story about Luckett. My brother in law's family has been friends with Luckett for years. Last week, my brother in law was coming out of a Coppell grocery store and saw Luckett coming out of a Sports Cuts haircut place. He stopped and said hello, and when he asked him if he was still reffing, he said, "Yeah", and looked away. And my pushy brother in law asked him why he wasn't up at the Super Bowl, and he said, "Awww, I don't want to talk about it." Obviously, the guy gets it everywhere he goes.

That's hilarious. :)
I remember watching that as a Lions fan, and going "What the fuck?". Of course, it was against the Steelers.

Very, very ticky tack. That's a call you reserve judgement on. If they call it both ways all game it was an OK call. But if they let Ward get his hands on a Seahawk later and don't call it, it was horrible.
Seattle continues to dominate the football game, but not get enough points.
As of this post, with 6 seconds left in the quarter, it's Seattle 80 yards, Pittsburgh 17.

Yeah, three huge penalties on Seattle so far. They will just kick themselves repeatedly after the game if they don't end up winning this. They are in complete control of this game.
So far in the Joey Porter vs. Jeremy Stevens contest, it's all zeros.
Still, Stevens gets the edge so far simply because of Joey's negative plays. I've seen Seattle complete three passes, two on third down right at Porter in zone coverage.
As I type that, Stevens drops a pass.
I'll call it dead even now.

The interesting thing there is if Seattle challenges the call. If it's ruled a catch, the ball dies right where the fumble occured and Seattle gets possession.

Yup. They should be up a minimum of ten points right now, probably more. But they are imploding with penalties, dropped passes and questionable play calling.
There is zero doubt, and I mean none as to who the better team on the field is right now. But the Steelers were a hair away from leading the game anyway. As it is, it'll likely be at least a tie game in a minute or two.
