Rules to come. Game is going to be a basic game with some flavor mixed in. I a looking to send out roles monday night/ tuesday morning. We will use a 24 hour deadline with a 10:30 PM EST deadline.
Werewolf is a game of lying, cheating and deciet.
Each day you will vote for one person to be lynched. The player who receives the most votes will be lynched. In the event of a tie there will be no lynch that day.
Each night the wolves will submit a player they want to kill.
All actions will be processed using a deadline of 10:30 EST
Some rules.
There is no editing of posts for whatever reason.
There is no quoting of PM's received from the GM
There is no discussion of the game anywhere other then this thread
Votes for a player will be submitted in bold, for example
VOTE LATHUM
you may unvote a player and revote a player
UNVOTE LATHUM
VOTE PLAYER X
Good Roles
Bartender: You can get anyone wasted. Each night you can get one player wasted and they cant perform their night action.
Club member: You are a member of the club who happend to be around late. Once per game you can use your influence to change the outcome of a lynch vote. You may select another player to be lynched instead.
Valet: You here everything, each night you can pick a player to listen to and determine their loyalties.
Weight room manager: You are lean and mean, each night you can select a player to protect. You may or may not identify the attacker if successful.
Evil Roles
Wolf: You are out to kill everyone and everything. Each night you select a player to attempt to kill
Brutal Wolf: If lynched you can select a player to take with you to the grave.
Goth: You want to be a wolf so bad, you know the wolves identity but they do not know yours. You show up as a human on scans but are considered a wolf for victory conditions. If attacked at night you will become a wolf in every sense.
ITEMS
Throughout the game there are items. If you choose to use an item you must PM me prior to the deadline. You may pass an item to another player by sending me a PM. All items are a 1 time use only and will be removed from the game after use. New items may be introduced or added as the game moves allong
Golf Club: Gives you a 50% chance of surviving a night attack
Kitchen knife: Allows you to perform a one time night kill on any player
Serving tray: gives you a 25% chance of surviving a night attack
Folding Table: You may use this one time to "baricade" a player abd they will be unable to perform their night action.
VICTORY CONDITIONS
The wolves win if they achieve a 1:1 ratio of villager to wolf.
The villagers win if they eliminate all the wolves.

You have worked a long shift at The Lupin Country Club. Serving the elite members of your community is hard work!
You are about to leave for the night when Lathum returns to the clubhouse and informs everyone that the storms in the area have washed out the bridge on the club exit. It appears you are all going to have to remain in the club until the bridge is repaired. No one can get in and no one can get out!
Lathum volunteers to go check out the damage. You all wait anxiosly, hoping you can leave soon. The minutes tick by, suddenly you hear a door bust open and Lathum runs through. he is covered in blood and his cloths are ripped apart.
"WOLVES, AMONG YOU" he shouts. Then falls to the floor dead.
You all look around, day 1 has begun.

Dark Green players who've played before a handful of times , and the Orange are players who are in their first or second game (as far as I remember, maybe in some cases they've played 2-3 times and I just forgot or missed it!)

Day 1 approaches:
1.) Get out an early vote based on whatever - see what kind of momentum emerges around candidates
2.) Vote based on random.org
3.) Wait until later in the day to see if you can interpret the momentum around existing candidates
4.) Insert your own logic here
I'll never go with approach #2, as I think random.org is a cop-out. I like to fool myself into believing there is some thread of logic to be discerned in every day and random.org is basically bailing out on trying to find that potentially emerging pattern.
Approach #3 is my usual approach, but I haven't had as much luck with it early in games as I would like so I'm inclined to try #1 today and see if I can force some of the action.
Cronin, I don't think EagleFan has played in any more than one other game - I'm pretty sure I have not played with him previously.

Hoops is always helpful as both a villager and as a wolf. He's one of those guys that I'll usually give a little slack to at the beginning in case they are on my team. If Hoops is good, he is an excellent villager to have on our side. His being helpful isn't really something that you can go by on day 1.
Worst case scenerio, he ends up being a wolf and gets found out in a few days. He tends to get scanned earlier by a seer than alot of other people, so no real reason in my mind to usually vote him day 1 unless he just slips up somewhere.

I disagree. I think rookies are the ones who think they know it all, or at least have a sneaking suspicion that they have caught not just one wolf, but two or three in some convoluted chain of protections and communications. However, you're right that people tend to listen to veterans more. I guess a good veteran needs to know that people will agree with them, and the rate at which they agree will not necessarily correlate with how likely they are to be correct.
Anyway, pretty weird Day 1 so far.

I guess a good veteran needs to know that people will agree with them, and the rate at which they agree will not necessarily correlate with how likely they are to be correct.
Anyway, pretty weird Day 1 so far.

Normally you will have something like 2 wolves per 8-10 villagers, but as you add more players you often times have more creative rule sets that could vary the wolf number a bit more. Assuming all of the roles are listed in the rules and no hidden roles, it doesn't seem like there are too many of those in this game.
I would say 3-4 wolves is a pretty safe number this size. I would more likely lean to 4 wolves if there isn't any true conversion mechanism.
Also one other note, its usually against the rules to edit or delete posts in the Werewolf games. If you make a mistake or mispell or mistype something, just correct it by posting a new post below it with the correction. :)

I'm not sure what to think about the RPI movement behind my initial vote. I don't think it is big enough to consider a huge "runaway" but I was suprised to see him picking up three votes before anyone else had one.
I think it was Cronin who made a comment about changing Day 1 votes - my thoughts on this is that they are more-or-less random until some point where they aren't. That doesn't always happen on Day 1, but every once in awhile the wolves have to generate some movement to save one of their own. If I have a reason to believe that I'm picking up some kind of alliances then I absolutely think a villager should change his vote to test out his theory.
But I don't have that today, so for now I'll sit tight and watch to see what happens.

Last time I played, CR was barely around the first 3/4 of the game, so no one suspected him. He was a wolf. It's more likely that his schedule is the consistent thing, rather than the role, but it's something I'll keep in mind.

Not that you asked me Barkeep, but just passing time-
When someone changes a vote from wolf to villager, or vice versa, (after those identities are revealed later) could be relevant, but on day one, nobody knows who's who except a wolf. After that, thanks to tools/roles, etc, there will be some villagers who KNOW who else is innocent, and thus may change votes to protect someone.
So in a perfect world, if villagers have nothing to gain by switching votes on day 1, since they know nothing, than those that do change votes, are suspicious.
Since it's not a perfect world, and people don't necessarily agree with that, they may change votes for any number of other reasons, so I don't know how much it tells us.

Nothing, that's why I gave someone their second vote.
That's why the theory's somewhat flawed. In a perfect world, villagers don't create that spread, so other villagers don't have to change they're votes to avoid it.
So, I guess votes creating a spread could be just as suspicious as those "piling on".

Anyway, MrBug, I think that you might be on to something with Barkeep. I just don't get his conflicting reasoning.
I don't care if you guys think it's "wolfish" for me to switch my votes. I go with whatever information I have at hand, and currently, it's Barkeep's illogical reasoning.
I'd much rather change my vote as much as I can to reflect my gut whatever feeling I have than others who would prefer to stay on one vote stubbornly just to avoid getting on the radar and being cast into suspicion.

My take on "best villagers" is that these are the people who, without benefit of any special role-based knowledge, most consistently determine who are the wolves. Particularly in mid-game play, but also in making the right decision the vast majority of the time in late-game play when there is more total information but no clear-cut choice.

A thought on our seer, in the event that they care to take any advice - I would love to see a scan of one of the leading (non-lynched) vote getters today. If we get a villager, and another top vote-getter is also a villager per scan, then start looking hard at the posts by people voting on those two parties.
Example - Neon and RPI have the top two vote totals, with RPI getting lynched as villager. A scan shows that Neon was also a villager. Chances are that you can
1. discard one vote (self-preservation by the villager)
2. discard another vote (attempted self-preservation by the dead villager)
3. potentially the seer voted for one of those candidates
Maybe all three don't come into play, but in a vote that is as shallow (leaders with 3 votes) and deep (10+ candidates) I think that this strategy makes a good amount of sense for today.
