No doubt that Pats' fans should be rooting for the Chargers to hold on. Even if L.T., Rivers, and Gates weren't banged up, it's an easier matchup for the Pats. With all 3 banged up, it's clearly the easier matchup by a wide margin.

I don't agree with the philosophy that you always run it. Sure, running it guarantees that the other team uses a time out, but I think that is a risk you take for the first down.
The Colts knew that the run was coming there. The Chargers chances were much better on 3rd and 4 with a pass there rather than a run.

Antonio Gates has a dislocated toe, LT goes out with a bruised knee, and Phil Rivers goes out in the 4th quarter. The champs just didn't have it today as they couldn't even defeat a wounded team of misfits and backups. They should have given Joe Addai more than 13 carries. Peyton threw for over 400 yards and his 2 INTs were tipped balls. Can't really blame him for the loss. Blame their #1 ranked defense for not being able to stop a backup QB, a backup RB, a hurt stud TE, and a cast away receiver obtained in a trade midseason from the worst nfl team ever assembled.
Umm now after this fun game, should i watch the NY/DAL game too or better expend my time playing a text sim or PS3 game?

True. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I think he'll give it a try though. Rivers too.

Aside from that first drive by the Giants, I would have to say the Cowboys have dominated this game. Too bad it's only the scoreboard that matters, though.

From sportsline
INDIANAPOLIS -- Peyton Manning (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/12531) better not get any heat for this. He better not get any blame. He couldn't win this playoff game for the Indianapolis Colts (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/IND), but by God he didn't lose it.
Dallas Clark (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/396154) lost it.
Reggie Wayne (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/235256) lost it.
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=200 align=left><TBODY><TR><TD width=200> </TD><TD width=15> </TD></TR><TR><TD width=200>Peyton Manning can thank his Colts teammates for Indy's season ending short of the AFC title game. (Getty Images) </TD><TD width=15> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>Marvin Harrison (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1231) lost it.
Kenton Keith (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/484878) lost it.
The Colts' defense lost it.
Maybe even coach Tony Dungy lost it, for allowing his family situation -- his kid enrolled recently at a Tampa, Fla., high school, triggering speculation that he will resign after this season -- to become a distraction.
The San Diego Chargers (http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/teams/page/SD) won 28-24 on Sunday to advance to the AFC Championship Game, and kudos to the Chargers for overcoming a crazy rash of injuries to their offensive stars, but the Colts lost this game. And by Colts, translate that to mean "pretty much everybody for the home team except for Peyton Manning."
The Colts wasted a magnificent game by Manning. The numbers say he was very good: 33-for-48 for 402 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. The numbers lie. Manning wasn't just very good. A fresh slice of pizza is very good. An afternoon nap is very good. Manning was exceptional, perhaps as exceptional as he has ever been, and he has been one of the most exceptional quarterbacks in NFL history.
A bit of hyperbole and sucking up but I do agree with him about the nap part. :)
