No More Making Fun of the Canadian Dollar!
For the first time in over 30 years, the Canadian Dollar is worth MORE than the US Dollar.
What a turnaround from a couple years ago...at least you can still make fun of Celine Dion but not our colourful currency! ![]() Quote:

With Canadian oil and mineral reserves, and a potential US recession (if the home ownership crisis gets any worse), I'd say this could well be the rule, and not the exception.

What does a recession mean? Like, people are spending more money on houses, so they can't buy other stuff...?

This is a sad day indeed. Our greenbacks are now worth less than Canuck Monopoly money.

Canada rules. The dollar situation was just a bonus. I remember going to Montreal 5 or 6 times in a 2 year stretch where you could almost cut the Canadian price of stuff in half to figure out how much US currency you were shelling out.

Damn glad that we did our honeymoon in Canada in 2001. Would've been brutal to do it dollar-for-dollar as it is now.
Interestingly, we've got some whacked out consipiracy theorists on the State board who are utterly convinced this is yet another step on the road to a North American Union of some kind between the US, Canada, and Mexico. |

Mebbe so. We've got folks claiming that the little reflector sticker on the back of NC licenses that show the northern half of the western hemisphere are, in fact, a way to show that North Carolina driver's licenese are ready for usage in the coming union. ![]() |
