Ahh, double that would be your 60-54. I've read that this sometimes gets fixed when we advance a week... hopefully, that will be the case here.

I haven't checked since Friday night. Are we close to being able to advance?

Last I saw, there were 3 teams that still needed to play. 2 against other (KWhit and someone else IIRC) as well as Pumpy against the computer. At least, that is what I remember from a quick glance.

I'll go ahead and play my game in a little while, I expect. If that can't happen, I'll do it as soon as I get home from work tomorrow.

It is Minnesota. Who the hell wants to play football in Minnesota, during the fall and winter, and play for a team who are called the Golden Gophers? The University of Minnesota: Crappin' it up since 1851. Last edited by Galaxy : 08-03-2008 at 09:58 PM. |

Shit! I can't find my game. I bought it last week, never opened it, and put it somewhere in my house. Today, my wife started cleaning up the only rooms I would've put it in, and I don't know where she put it. I hope she didn't throw it away by accident.
Anyway, I'm searching the house for it, but I don't know if I'll find it tonight. If I don't, I'll try again tomorrow. Damn!

I just looked. I didn't see any changes in the scores (OSU was 153-13 (or whatever it was) and Washington was still 30-27. All the scores were the same as reported.
I haven't seen much activity from KWhit and WVUfan here. Last edited by Galaxy : 08-03-2008 at 10:52 PM. |

It was in a bag full of coat hangers that I'd bought at the same time I bought the game. Oops.

Lost to Northern Illinois at home, 16-10. I was up 10-6 and driving fairly late, but I threw a pick that got returned 100 yards for a TD. The Huskies added on a field goal after that, and my last-gasp drive fell about 30 yards short. Gophers fans are already at my house asking me to stab myself in the throat.

Tough to jump right in without much time to get up to speed.
So all we have left now is Georgia vs. WVU, I think. |

Pumpy, just wanted to find out if you know you have 10 hours a week to recruit. I see you have 7 and a half hours left to spend.

When you're as good as Pumpy, you don't need the full 10 hours to recruit!

I left all that time on my clock to let the CPU finish up the recruiting for me this week. Will it do that? If not, I'll use up the rest of my time tonight when I get home.

I think you can do that. If you find the calls tedious, you might want to try the quick-call feature. You just tell it how long you want to talk to a player and whether you want to offer them a scholly. On a different note, it sounds like WVU and KWhit are going to try to play tomorrow. |

I believe it will if you have CPU assistance set on. However, I highly recommend you just use the time yourself with quick calls. It is much easier than last year and gives you more control than leaving it to the CPU. |

You can also set up your preferences in the type of players the computer will recruit for you. I think EF27 has the best idea. Make sure you set up your recruiting board and place the players in order of who you want the most. |

EF27 and Sun Tzu have reported that we can now edit the rosters without fear of doom. Have fun, boys. Although the week we gained by going with fake names ain't looking so great now. Last edited by Kodos : 08-05-2008 at 12:17 PM. |

Thats cool. Locker as Matt Williams just wasn't hitting the spot. Also, really interested to see what happens with the "issues" I am seeing (2-0, doubled score) after advancing. Hopefully, all is well. |

these leagues move awfully slow, with an emphasis on awful. what do you say we don't go up until the deadline every week, ok guys? at this rate we'll be in season 8 by NCAA '10. if you're gonna be the guy that holds everything up every week maybe now is the time to bow out and let someone more enthusiastic about being in the RFL take over?

Yep. We'll see what happens after we advance a week. I'm not going to bother editing my roster until then, that's for sure.

Where do you all see your teams as 2-0? I see some of you as 1-0 and some as 0-0 when I look at the standings. Hopefully, it will all straighten out when we advance, but I'm also holding off naming my roster until next week.

I went to bed as soon as I got home last night, so I didn't get around to using the rest of my recruiting time. Don't wait for me, though. If I haven't used it by the time everyone's played, so be it. I'll claw my way into the hearts of those youngsters.
I see that I'm competing with Indiana for a punter. I don't remember any specifics about the kid, but I do know that he had IU as his #2 choice. I think I'm going to tell this kid about Kodos' rash. That'll keep him out of Bloomington!

You guys probably should have figured out a time to play ahead of time. A couple PMs could have done the trick. Waiting until the deadline is near to even try to set up a game is disappointing to me and probably most of the other people in the league.
I'm not trying to run anyone off, but if you're not that into the league, there's no harm in just saying so and walking away. On the other hand, if you're excited about the league, try to keep things moving so people stay interested. At least let people know if there is a scheduling issue or if you're busy at work. It's the worst when there is a wait and nobody knows when (or even if) you're going to try to play. A little courtesy and planning goes a long way. Last edited by Kodos : 08-07-2008 at 12:15 AM. |
