Is anyone upgrading their game system this Christmas?
I am hoping to find someone who is upgrading from their PS2. We are still using a PS1 and it just barely works now. So I am trying to find a better system that will still run the games we have now, and let us get some newer games too.
I know that ebay has tons of these out there, but I would feel better getting a system from someone here first. If anyone has a system or system/games that they are not using or are looking to upgrade let me know. Thanks

You can get a brand new PS2 for like $99 that would play the PS1 games, and open you up to a giant library of great, cheap PS2 games.

I would give you my unit if it weren't for Power Pros 2008. I didn't use it for 2 years, but started to get some use out of it again.

That was the point of the PS2. I think that new systems are actually 129.00, but I am looking to save money where I can.

I'm still using an original XBox. Well, using probably isn't the correct term. I have an original XBox gathering dust underneath the TV in my office...

My kids still play the PS2, but I'm hopeful that there will be a Wii coming for Christmas.

Do any of you guys know where I can buy a new power supply for my brother's 360 for less than $80? I lost it when I was moving his stuff and I need to replace it before he comes home for Christmas. It seems crazy that no stores near me carry it and it costs $80 online. Any place I can get one cheaper?

I've got an XBox 360 that I rarely use but it will likely get some play over the holidays.
That said, I plan on upgrading my computer over the next few weeks. Want to get a stick of RAM, a new video card and a new power supply. Why? So I can play Football Manager with the 3D match engine. And I'm not embarassed to say it! Oh yeah, and to be prepared should Starcraft II ever see the light of day...

I'm tempted to pick up a 360 for the netflix deal. I'm a snob, though and really want an elite (cuz of the black and storage of course), and not sure I wanna plop down the $400 for one. Maybe I'll find a good deal on cyber monday.

I'd give up my PS2 is Persona 4 wasn't coming out in a couple weeks.
Sad that I'm still getting more PS2 games than I do PS3 games. |

I still play my Xbox, MVP Baseball (2005? I forget) almost every day. Wii doesn't have any good baseball games, or else the Xbox would be gone. And yes, I am cheap/poor. EDIT: Are new sports games still coming out for the PS2? That's an "investment" I could handle. Last edited by MrDNA : 11-25-2008 at 11:11 PM. |

I miss the days of the original Xbox. Back then, this would've been a joke about the controller.

Pilotman,
I have a PS2 that I haven't touched in over a year. I have some games as well (mainly various editions of Madden and NCAA). Shoot me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out. H_B

I just couldn't get into it. I know I SHOULD'VE been able to, but something just put me off. Mayhaps your incredulous blue face will encourage me to rent it again. |

I'm upgrading!
Scrapping the Gamecube and PS1 for a Wii! Horray! We love playing my brother-in-laws, and the kids really love it. Its pretty much the perfect gaming system for our family. Plus, I still have my computer for stuff like Fallout and Call of Duty.
