Can you test a team export upload to see if that works for you? As long as that works, you should be good to go. Hopefully the news stuff works itself out tonight.

I have a work around for this too.

In your FOOL.lg folder do you see a human_managers.dat and a human_managers.bak? If so, try renaming the human_managers.dat to something else and then changing human_managers.bak to human_managers.dat

See if that then lets you log in. If it does, then make sure to set your password within the game again before you export.

This was another bug with this patch that I encountered

export your file to local computer and just email it to me if you need to. PM me if you need my email address to send it to.

I'm doing a complete reinstall of OOTP from the full install file for 9.2.11, then I'm gonna put in the full file for the league and see what happens.

I downloaded the zip again and was able to export, but I could do that yesterday too, only to not able to download the new file. We'll see tho...

Hmm, strange. I did what Alan posted, downloading the file manually last night and unzipping it to my league folder, and everything is working fine. My password works, and I can upload. That's everything I did right there, so I don't if anyone needs to replicate that to get better results, but if so, there it is.

Well, I reinstalled the game and the league files, and now everything works just fine. If you're having an issue, I highly recommend this.

I had to grab the zip and unpack it. I then copied the export I had still on my hard drive and put it into the new game folder, and was able to import it and then export it via FTP. So the problem seems to be specific to the act of updating the file via ftp must cause it to lose its marbles about how to find the ftp server the next time. Kind of annoying. Alan, you may want to check if I have a valid export on the ftp server, to verify it worked. Its the same as the one I emailed.

I know this post is late coming, but I have been PMing Alan this week and have followed his instructions diligently and no matter what, every time I try to download the online league file it says, ""Error: could not open a connection to the FTP server". I'll be the first to admit that I am not at all tech savvy but does anyone else have any ideas for me? I might need step by step instructions on this one.

I haven't been able to do anything to my team all week!

It sounds like you are having the same issue that Tasan did. The only thing he could do to get it to work correctly was to uninstall OOTP and then re-install it completely. This includes getting rid of all of your game files and such.

Unfortunately I actually have to leave in about 10 minutes and won't be back until some point after 9pm tonight so this is the one night i can't help. Anyone else out there able to help walk Teach through how to remove OOTP completely (including saves and such) and then re-install it?

Actually, and I'm not sure it had bearing or not, but I DIDN'T uninstall first, I just let it overwrite everything.

One other note.. if for some reason you absolutely can't get it to work correctly, there is a way to export the file and email it to me. Let me know if you need my email address to send the file to.

I have no problem doing that if that is the only way it works. No sense punishing anyone for a patch that doesn't work right.

Just did. No luck huh? Should probably post a bug report on the ootp forums on it. Right now they are telling everyone with this problem that they suddenly have an ISP that is blocking ftp access which has nothing to do with the patch that they just happened to upgrade to.

When you have the league opened in game, what date does it say in the top right corner. Does it say 02-01-1988 or 11-02-1987?

This patch really doesn't work very well... I have a file imported for you now that looks like the correct week. When I import files now it is like flipping a coin if it works or not, so I have to verify by eye if the files match what is actually on the server.
