Injuries

Hello

I'm wondering what is the effect of injuries that are labeled as Probable and Questionable?

Do those affect player performance and if so, at what level?

Is player labeled as Probable in better condition than Questionable?

In most video games the system handles injuries by taking off a certain percentage of the players ability while they are injured. Probable might be 10%, Questionable might be 20-30%, Doubtful might be 40-50% so on and so on for instance.

Does the AI sometimes decide not to play injured guys even if you have them in your depth chart? I've occasionally tried to start Questionable guys on the offensive line, and the AI plays the backup and the injured guy doesn't get a snap. My "AI willingness to play injured starters" probably plays a role (I think mine was right around 50). But is it possible that a guy who is questionable or doubtful just "can't go" come game time even if you've plugged him into the depth chart?

I'm also trying to decipher the "player will maintain an X level of performance" label for injured guys, where X = "good", or "very good", etc. I can't remember those off the top of my head but I think I was confused once about the order of those, in terms of how well a guy can play.

And then they show you the risk of injury, I think its "none", "very low", "low", "moderate", and "very high". I've generally not played guys with a "moderate" or "very high" risk of injury unless its a critical game, but I've never actually seen anyone re-injured in a way that makes the injury worse. As in, I've seen the, "X is injured, this is an old injury and he's toughing it out", but I've never seen a guy with one of those never-healing hamstrings actually make the injury worse.

Yes I have seen a player get injured worse all the time. Probably depends on what the players tolerance level is to injuries.

I had a guy listed as probable with a strained elbow ligament actually tear it in a game requiring surgery and ending his season.

If you want your hurt players to see the field, you need to increase the "willingness to play injured" setting. For quite some time I've been using nothing lower than 90, I might even have yanked it up to 100 - we're in the off-season in the only MP league I play in, so I can't see what I actually use. (It would be better if the game just used an available/unavailable mode, rather than the seemingly randomness of the 'willingness' setting compared with the surprises the depth chart might have for you.)

Thank you very much for the answers. Especially the tip about clicking the injury. Hadn't noticed that before. Very useful info there.
