After about the 13th game, I was rooting against him as far as getting that touchdown pass. Needless to say we'll be looking for a franchise QB with that #1 overall pick.

I think the coach let that whole POW thing affect his decision to bench her.

I'm surprised that his rating was even in the 30's with the td/int ratio.

He rebounded nicely the next year, still getting the start. There was not a decent QB in the draft...

JJ Lynch
279 for 540 (51.6%)
2,878 yards
5.32 average
13 touchdowns
23 interceptions
57.5 QB Rating

We even won 3 games!

Sadly, that TD/Int ratio wasn't that much worse than Dilfer's in Tampa back in 1995. 4 TDs, 18 Ints. He became respectable so there may still be hope.

JJ rode the pine the next season then became a free agent. New Haven must have been very impressed with his showing on our team and signed him to a 3 year contract, then gave him the start. They went 4-12. Here is JJ's line:

288 for 506 (56.9%)
2,803 yards
10 touchdowns
18 interceptions
64.3 QB rating

He is getting better.

I'll wait and see a few more years and a few more updates to judge whether he is the worse qb or not.

New Haven cut JJ after one season and he signed a 1 year deal with Reno. He started 2 games with Reno, throwing 1 touchdown and 5 interceptions.

Boise City signed him to a 3 year contract and gave him the starting job. He started all 16 games for Boise City and they went 8-8. Here are JJ's stats for the year:

16 starts
334 for 578 (57.7%)
3,810 yards
6.59 average
28 touchdowns
19 interceptions
80.1 QB Rating

He is fully developed now and my scout rates him as a 52 overall. His talent is very evenly spread out across the board as far as the red bars go. He is around a 50 in every category except for accuracy (82), timing (98) and Short passes (31).
