Helps that the maintenance guy Shuck pulled him out of harms way (and also got shot in the process). I'm guessing he wasn't in the line of fire for all 200 rounds.

Well, he was missing but the real headline is Ellen found Jesus.

And yes, I could be completely wrong which is why I would like to hear the answers to the questions not being answered. Instead, we are starting with Paddock acted alone and everything getting shoved into that narrative with anything not fitting that story being labeled as "kook or crazy."

Does it not strike anyone odd that the "key" witness to this shooting decides the first and only interview thus far to be on The Ellen Show. That in itself is just odd...all conspiracies aside.

Not really. He would have paid for being on Ellen.

Seems reasonable that he would go on a paid interview on Ellen over answering the same questions for free across 5-7 news stations.

Yeah, if you aren't in line with the door it really doesn't matter how many rounds were fired through the door.

Still think he acted alone? Hard drive is stolen/missing from his laptop? Must be housekeeping?

Monsanto did it. Or chemtrails. Or Trump held back those JFK papers because this guy was the 2nd shooter in Dallas.

You're getting slack it took a full five minutes before a condescending mocking statement was made to a legitimate question.

Why is it strange that he would take out his hard drive before going on a suicidal shooting rampage? It's obvious he didn't want to be studied and analyzed. No note, no manifesto. Doesn't sound like a guy who wants authorities pouring though his computers and internet history. Maybe he shared some internet hobbies with his brother and was into child porn.

But this is what conspiracy theorists do. When there's any gap of specific knowledge in a complicated event, they choose to assume the most complicated/exciting explanation to fill those gaps, whatever fits their paranoid assumptions about how the world works. This has been studied extensively. It's basically a thinking error.

It could be as well that he took the hard drive out at some earlier time and was booting off of a USB stick/SD card/DVD. Something like that would be easy to dispose of by flushing it/crushing it/shooting it/etc.

And it's not like he was held up in there for weeks. He was around the casino, gambling. Destroying and disposing of his hard drive (and any other evidence he didn't want analyzed) could have been done the right before the shooting.

Now that we're not paying attention the NRA reverts to form. A tweet from the NRA today:

#ICYMI #NRA opposes new bill that seeks to heavily regulate bump-fire stocks. #2A

(Sorry I didn't embed, but that hasn't been working for me for a while)

And while we're not paying attention, 7 deaths with ties to Vegas shooting incident including several who claimed to see multiple shooters on the ground and were posting on social media about what they saw.

Paddock gambling his million dollars a night and ditching his hard drive to get rid of the motive that he never had...sigh.

Who are these 7?

Are you counting the security guard who was totally missing but is now back to work?

I had a conversation with someone that Sandy Hook/Newtown did not happen.

I can believe in a JFK conspiracy but the Sandy Hook denial just blew my mind.

I wonder if today's shooting should just piggy back onto the vegas thread or become another on its own. Is there a General shooting thread?

Hadn’t heard about it. All the major news sites are talking Iran, was it a mass casualty? (Obviously anything under five isnt getting media attention)

Sounds relatively "normal" from the LA Times writeup.

Woman reports disturbance just before dawn at an off-strip hotel.
Security guards respond, enter the room & get shot.
Suspect flees, eventually shoots himself in the head.

I mean, this kinda sounds like a garden variety domestic type deal to this point.

Could a bill like this have any chance of getting bipartisan support?

Democrats, Rubio want 'red flags' to enable gun seizures

I keep seeing TV interviews that say even if the FBI had intervened with the shooter, they wouldn't have been able to do anything meaningful about it. This idea is suppose to change that.

No.

We can't even get tighter controls on bump stocks.

Especially not when you attach a rider to the bill that greatly expands concealed carry rights in exchange for regulating bump stocks.

I wondered why the NRA was down; guess they had assurances that a poison pill would make sure it never saw the light of day.
