If 2 hours is too much for a talk show podcast then you may just not be into talk shows.
Not trying to be elitist or anything, but really - it's a talk show not a goofy podcast. That's about accurate actually talking time for a normal talk show.

Thanks. I would have accepted "ct is the one who posts on FOFC" as well. They told me who was who as I listened more. Pretty good -- I was listening on the bus and train, but I think I'll be able to pay more attention when I'm listening while I drive, like I usually will. |

since this thread happens to be on the front page... we have a string of XM shows coming up soon, including a 3 hour live show in october (this will be a first for us on XM). I'll provide more detail when we get closer.

Wouldn't it be correct to call him the ball dipper? CT is the one who injured himself chasing a train, the anal organizer for maximum fun and wrote some sort of contract with God. Jivin is the ball dipping, acid-dropping, sexual deviant who is on the wrong side of the zombie war. Hope that helps.

Does anyone know if CT & Jivin is ever coming back? If not, does anyone have any other podcast suggestions?

Was trying to quote the post ct made at www.ctandjivinfans.com - but that site won't come up.
Basically he said that the show is, "in a coma" right now. And he doesn't know what the future holds.

Depends on what type of podcast you are looking for. For gaming I love the podcast from the GiantBomb.com guys. Comedy, Adam Carolla does a great daily podcast that runs about an hour. Howstuffworks.com puts out several interesting podcasts, but they are generally only around 20 minutes long. TWiT, or This Week in Tech, is another good one. |

Sort of similar concept (two guys riffing), I listen to Two Jacks in the Hole every week. They are loosely affiliated with the Poker Road crew, but their show is nothing about poker.

Good news for CT & Jivin fans. A somewhat revamped show is set to return soon:

Blah - love you guys - but the constantly changing "live" time is not going to be good for participation.

Good news - new episode of CT and Jivin.
Bad news - last one ever. CT, thanks for all the hard work on this through the years. I really enjoyed the show and wish that it could keep going, but understand why its come to an end. Thanks again. |

Sorry to hear that it's over. And it sounds like you guys could both use a break with work. I'm not easily impressed, but I'd listen to the show probably nightly if it was on.

Loved the show. Very sad to see it die. Thanks for all the effort you put into it. Easy to tell it was a labor of love. Sad to see it didn't work out like we all hoped.

Sad never to be able to listen to CT & Jivin again.
Considering I didn’t really liked your taste in music and film and that I had a hard time relating to life in New York, living in a small city in Norway I downloaded and listened to ever single show and enjoyed it. |

It's the only podcast I have ever followed (even if just semi-regularly) and thought it was pretty cool and entertaining. Sad to see it's over.

This (Arkansas instead of Norway though, obv). I remember downloading your first show when you started this thread and listening while I mowed my lawn. Listened to every show since. If you make them all available via torrent, I will probably listen to them all again (long commute). Last edited by MJ4H : 04-12-2010 at 05:30 PM. |

Obviously sad to see the show go. CT&J was my top podcast and I still think it's a show that fit my interests better than any out there.

Finally came around to listening to the final episode. Bummer that the big breakthrough didn't come around and it ended this way.
Maybe in a couple of years the market is better and the itch comes back...

Just finished listening to the classic "This One Is For Jivin" podcast, where they talk about the alien war. Great stuff. It's the January 14, 2008 podcast.

Oh, I don't think there's much chance they'll be back, since Jivin moved to Philly. Wasn't meant to get anyone's hopes up.

Yep, definitely gonna miss this show. The one thing that kept having me go back to that show was the personal stories, that for whatever reason, they had no problem sharing. Those were always great to hear since is usually covered family, work (through all the different jobs to eventual unemployment), and relationships from a perspective very, very different than my own. And it was fascinating to see how they weaved through those things through their life throughout the life of the podcast.

Agreed. The personal life stories were way better than science or the trailer park (god) or the music segments or whatnot.
