Roughly, yeah. If not significantly less. I mean, there look to be seats in the front rows that are empty even.
edit: I guess that's what you get for a play-in in Ohio involving teams from California and Florida though.

Oh wow. Yeah, they've been panning around the last few minutes.
This whole "first four" idea was stupid anyways SI

I would have preferred to take the auto-bids from the amount of at-large. 64 teams is plenty, and when we're talking about the #7 and #8 teams from the power conferences, I'd rather the bids go to the automatic qualifiers.

Really neat side that usually gets a lot of publicity around tourney time. It's called www.predictionmachine.com. Premise of the site is that you can enter any given sporting matchup 50,000 times and get the win percentages over that sample size. Here's the current percentage of winning the title (top 5 from each region, note that this was run today after Syracuse announcement):
Kentucky 21.0% Ohio State 19.5% Missouri 9.9% UNC 8.5% Michigan St. 6.8% Kansas 6.7% Wichita St. 3.1% Indiana 2.7% Syracuse 2.6% Wisconsin 2.1% Duke 1.8% Louisville 1.7% Baylor 1.1% Georgetown 0.9% Vanderbilt 0.8% New Mexico 0.7% Michigan 0.6 Marquette 0.5% Florida St. 0.3% Temple 0.3% |

I loved the announcer going into a long spiel at the start of the game how Montgomery felt the Pac-12 was unfairly judged and it really wasn't that bad this year, and then they get outscored something like 11-2 right off the bat. Cal represent baby. |

In the UNC / NC State ACC tourney game I saw a call I'd never seen before: they called a charge on UNC, but the basket counted, because he plowed into the defender AFTER he let go of the ball.

I go to... idano.. let's say 30 live games a year (W&M home games, an away game or two, and the CAA tourney). I usually see this call made once every year or two. Always odd, but makes sense in a way. Similar is the charge on a pass play rather than a shot attempt - where they are driving to the basket, dish off at the last second, but still plow through the guy - that happens even more often.

Even if I'm not off work, they're not the two most productive afternoons of the year. (Un)fortunately, with being sick this year, I'll be off Thursday, at least, and probably won't be going at full speed tomorrow but will probably be in and leave early

I'm not sure what to make of the Greg Gumbel and Ernie Johnson studio. They both seem to fill the same role. Both have good pipes and get the basketball equivalent of exposition across as the quiet straight man in a loud studio. It's a necessary role and it's better than Kenny Smith and Chuck yelling at each other. It just seems redundant and I'm not sure there's enough oxygen for that large of a studio

I dunno - do you think people really had Murray State going far? I don't think many people knew what to do with them so worst case is that you lose a Sweet 16 team but I think most had them losing to Missouri at the most. SI

As someone who watched maybe 5 minutes of pre-tourney college basketball this year, is scoring just way down in general? It seems like aside from BYU-Iona, everyone else is incapable of putting it in the basket.
