Giants and JPP reportedly come to a long term agreement.

And according to the big smile on his face on the photo he posted to instagram, I'm guessing the man got paid.

Ian Rapoport on Twitter: "#Giants pass-rusher Jason Pierre-Paul signed a 4-year contract worth $62M base – up $66M – with $40M guaranteed, source said. Big-time 💰💰💰"

Edit: $20 million signing bonus

Snyder and Allen are so petty and vindictive that they cut Ricky Jean Francois, the only returning starter on the DL, for a measly $1 million in cap savings because he told the truth in an interview about how dysfunctional the franchise is.

Which is weird, 'cause I would have figured he'd get cut because he sucks.

You should be you guys ha do down have dominated free agency with some great moves at fairly reasonable $ investments. Many are saying that the team the wins FA is never the SB winner later that season but that is because it is usually a team at the bottom . I don't think I remember a current SB champ "winning" the following FA like the Pats are doing .
Though I hate the org they deserve respect. The repeated strategy of their willingness to trade a draft pick(s) that equal an unknown player and flipping for known quantity players that have proved they can do it already in the NFL is smart.

I guess I'm happy to have JPP back, as we were a much better pass rush with him, but just hope he can stay healthy for a full season.

Cap is going to be a problem soon with ODB coming up but this is a win now team given Eli's age.

And Landon Collins. ODB has an option year for 2018 (and I can't see how the Giants don't use it), so both of them will need to get paid for 2019.

But yeah, Eli only has a few years left most likely, and I certainly remember how long that wait between Phil Simms and Eli Manning was. They fucking better be in "win now at all costs" mode.

Besides "cool, glad they're getting their stuff back", does anyone actually give a shit about some guy who tried stealing Brady's jerseys and apparently Von Miller's helmet? The amount of coverage of this is insane.

I'm guessing because the potential value of the stolen items is in the hundreds of thousands? This is not just like walking out with a ball or some phones.

I wonder if you'll ever accept reality that the Pats are the most despicably corrupt pro sports organization in the U.S. and that they're likely guilty of this and a myriad of other violations that have either been covered up or that they've managed to avoid being caught for.

Wait. I'm lying.

I don't wonder about that one iota. We both already know the answer.

That's cool & all, but let's at least not pretend that "reality" only exists in the Pats version.

No, I have to travel to Boston a bit and everytime I am up there, sports radio has another reason to feel persecuted about something. Some one questions Bill Belichek without the proper deference. Some one said Larry Bird was not a member of the Holy Trinity, etc. There was a full day of radio talk dedicated to LeBetard throwing shade on the Boston fanbase a month or so ago.

I cover from VA up to ME and the Boston area is the one area where someone is looking for a reason to blow up. Sure Philly has their share of pricks, but in Boston it seems everyone is trying to find something to be upset about.

I can usually at least understand a line of thinking when it comes to most NFL transactions. I might not agree with them, but I can usually figure out why a team is doing something.

I can think of zero reason that makes any logical sense why the Bears just signed Mark Sanchez. Unless they're just TRYING to be comical.

I googled Dak Prescott and found the possible explanation from PFT.

The Raiders move to Vegas was approved 31-1, with only the Dolphins voting no.

Far be it from me to tell a billionaire what to do with his team. But the NFL is poorer for lack of a team in Oakland.

Actually, considering that the 49ers built their stadium so far out of town, it is arguable that the NFL got two teams into Los Angeles at the same time is lost both teams from the Bay area.

San Jose/Santa Clara are still squarely in the Bay Area.

Oakland, while underrated, is the weak link of the Bay Area. Vegas should be an interesting experiment now that it suddenly has NHL and NFL franchises.

The elected reps of Oakland disagreed and would not spend public money to the degree the NFL wanted to keep them. And I can't argue with that--there are a lot more necessary things for Oakland to be spending its money on than a football stadium.

As for your second point, that's silly. Bay Area still has a team. Or at least the Niners. You can debate what level of blessing that is.

Sportswriters bitch about the free food they get at major sporting events. They are not the standard you want to operate from lol.

At what point do you look at Oakland as the problem? The NBA is leaving town to jump across the bay, the A's have tarped off the top of the stadium to cap it at 35k I think and the football stadium was down to 54k. Restaurants in the stadium have been shut down multiple times for sewage leaks, Angles have complain about E Coli outbreaks in the visitors training rooms, etc...

It's not just a Raiders problem as the NBA has decided to leave (2019) and the A's have been begging to move to San Jose for a long time.

So the Dolphins finally waive #3 overall 2013 pick Dion Jordan after he failed a physical with an injury they knew nothing about. He had also been suspended multiple time for substance abuse. Who do they replace him with?

To be suspended for substance abuse for eight games after he signs a contract, T.J. McDonald of course. WTG Miami.

I know it's like weeks ago now but I still don't understand why the Steelers were so interested in Dont'a Hightower. I'm not saying he sux cause he's a good player. But schematic wise he would be a 3/4 inside linebacker and paying that position 9M+ a season is straight nuts. Especially when we have a ton of guys to pay as is.

Tony Romo to retire - probably start seeing QBs move in free agency now.

Hard to blame him citing health concerns, especially considering the last few years.

Yeah, I've been saying he should retire ever since his most recent injury. No sense risking further injury. You want to have a functional body when your playing days are done.

NFL to look into Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championship for possible violations

With the Raiders going to Vegas, I am trying to remember what establishments in Vegas are not gambling related.
