Add those last 2 Bradshaw mistakes to the L O N G list of Giants screw ups tonight.

I'm still annoyed over that Manningham drop...

I just need Eli (Lathum's God's gift to Quarterbacking" to toss the cards a nice pick 6 right here and I will have the perfect score on this game.

These catches by Smith and Boss. Wow.

Boss got hit really hard and hat-to-hat. I don't know how that wasn't an obvious penalty.

This would be the only way I can lose in fantasy football, so you have just voiced what I'm dreading ... I'm holding you and Lathum both responsible if it happens.

Isn't that near textbook shielding without looking for the ball pass interference?

Terrible decision by Manning. I'm afraid this removes him from "God's Gift" and relegates him to "Another good QB in the NFL"

Manning makes two questionable throws in a row and throws the game away. Oh well. At least the Giants didn't get embarassed as they did last week.

If as Collinsworth mentioned he had touched the receiver at all, yes, but the receiver wasn't actually affected by the player's move, so by the rules as they are now, no.

20 years ago that would have been an obvious flag.

The silver lining is that the Giants have a ton of game film between this game and last week on what not to do.

In all seriousness, this is what the Giants went through at the end of last season. I'd rather them have a mid-season slump than an end-of-season slump. If they end up doing both, then that means they really aren't good enough to win the SB anyway.

I love that my #1 fantasy back(I guess) is out there demanding the ball in the 4th quarter with a 30 point lead.

Not so. The camera zoomed in on him just prior to the snap late in the 4th, and I'm sure I saw him mouth "these yards are for Stevew!".

Orton threw 12 picks last year, Cutler's already at 10 in 6 games. He's not to blame for today's loss, but I have to wonder what this team's record would be with Kyle Orton (I'd be convinced they would win the Atlanta and Green Bay games with him).

Just got back from the game, or should I say bar, but the giants suck....or at least the playcalling does....I love Eli, but if I can see how a D is setup from the stands, he should be able to do the same....I can't tell you how many quick slants were open if he would have called an audible

When does Ron Turner get fired?

As PFT pointed out, this team had Kyle Orton and Cedric Benson two seasons ago, and both looked like crap. All of a sudden, they go to two different systems (and not exactly world-beating teams, either), and they become All-Pros.

Something's wrong up there in Chicago, and it ain't the water.

I didn't realize Benson was only 5'11" The way he runs out there, he looks like he's well over 6 feet tall. He's like a men amongst boys.

In the Bears defense when he was with them he ran like he was 5'2". He is doing a lot more 1 cut and go this year which obviously suits his style. With the Bears it seemed he would run into a pile and fall down.

This may not be good for the rest of the league. I still think the Giants are the most talented team and the last thing we need is them to get some fire in their ass. I was happy with them just going through the motions.

Two things have always amazed me in the NFL:

1) How long our preseason projections stick with us. (I'm guilty as hell)

2) How one or two games can cause us to throw all of the rest of the data out and assume those projections are accurate again. (I'm guilty)

Let's take a look at two teams early schedules:

TEAM 1

@Cincy
Cleveland
@Oakland
Dallas

TEAM 2

Washington
@ Dallas
@ TB
@ KC

Obviously, I'm talking about the Broncos and the Giants. Both teams played weak schedules early and despite there being signs the one was a little better than we thought and one was a little worse than what we thought, we continued to call one a pretender inflated by record and the other a Super Bowl contender.

The funny thing? Even being a die hard Broncos fan, I still think the Giants are a better team. It's illogical. By any criteria you want to use, the Broncos are the better team right now. (stress the right now)

The second thing is the jump to conclusions factors. We all thought the Patriots would be pretty good. (ten win good anyway) They start the season out slowly (for them). Wins against the Bills, Falcons and Ravens (games the Bills and Ravens choked away as much as the Patriots won) Road losses to the Jets and Broncos.

They then beat the Titans and Bucs by a combined 94-7 and suddenly the Patriots will jump into the top 5 of the Power Rankings. They may actually be a top 5 team, but it'll be interesting to see how back they are when they start playing real NFL teams again.

I know, these are obvious observations, nothing earth shattering. Just my ramblings on a Monday morning.

Indiana blows a 28-3 lead against Northwestern on Saturday. Sunday sees the Dolphins blow a 24-3 lead against New Orleans. What a crappy football weekend.

Good post. Its all a matter of perception. When the truth is no one is as good as they seem or as bad as they seem. It still is the NFL and no game should be as easy as we like to make it sound. Athough this year makes that statement strongly debatable.

The Broncos have to be one of the biggest surprises in NFL history at this point. Who could have predicted this after the offseason they had? I believe the Broncos in the NFL are very comparable to the Iowa Hawkeyes in college football this year. Both teams seem to win the same way.

Also in the NFL I believe most teams cant stay "up" for the whole season so you will see lots of peaks and valleys throughout the year. Right now the Giants/Ravens are at a valley stagewhile Denver/New England/Saints are at a peak stage.
