She has one last ditch effort of trying to get alimony from me but the lawyer says it will be denied because she has had a boyfriend living with her.

Once this is complete, I will be beginning on my next phase of my life, operation move back to Utah. Get away from this place and their negativity and get my life back.

I have spoken with the kids over this, they are not to happy, but they are excited I will be getting them every summer, 1 week during spring break AND 1 week over the holidays.

My oldest heads to college in the fall so she doesn't care to much, but the two boys will.

Great to hear! Not moving to Vegas?

Don't know yet..Right now it will be Utah until my girlfriend graduates in Sept, from there, we will make the decision.

Court is completed for the preliminary part. Next date is in March and I hope it is the last date, if not it will be one more after, but it is a pretty cut and dried case according to my lawyer, not a lot to divide. So, I am thinking it will be all said and done in March.

Ah, very nice. Would give an extra excuse to go to Vegas.

Sounds like you got a great lawyer now.

Well, the time is coming and I gave notice to my amazing and great landlords. Render and Telle.

It's been a whirlwhind and almost 5 years, but the biggest thing I have to say here is I wouldn't have survived without them. They helped me out along this long and arduous path that I have been on. Kept me sane. This is a friendship I will keep for life, and I will miss them and I know the kids will miss their kids as well.

But at the end of the month, first part of April I am moving back to Utah. As I close this chapter a new amazing one is opening up. It is awesome.

NOW an interesting story, something that has had close to 4 yrs boil up. The boyfriend that has made the past 4 years a living hell finally got into my face and talked enough shit he set me off, I let him push me physically, the minute he did I popped him a few times and knocked him on his ass.

The cops were called and literally was begging my ex to have him arrested, not me. They were cool, knew the story from me calling them there with some issues last Sept with him and my daughter. But his attitude has changed and his bark is no longer there. I informed my lawyer and he stated it has no basis on what is going on next week, you were in self defense.

So...things are going great...and if you follow me on FB, Jon said it best with my amazing woman...I out kicked my coverage on this one!

Finally!

I am free! Papers were signed today and I am now waiting on the judges signoff and it will be 100% official.

It has been a long 5 yrs.

Positive is, I am moving back to Utah in 2 weeks. My GF and I have found a great place we are waiting to be approved for and I can't wait.

Pretty much, the next post in this thread will be when we decide to tie the knot (Funny I talk about it after this heinous 5 years but being alone through 4 out of the 5(I did date) has made me realize a lot and I have also found that special someone)

I lied about what the next post would be. I just wanted to say the traveling gig is done. I am working out of an awesome office as an inside sales guy. Selling CTE to the K12 market.

Happy to be off the road, happy to be home every night, and not living out of a suitcase anymore.

Oh, and the GF loves it too...

Good for you Dennis! Getting to do all those normal things is a great feeling! Always feeling like you are sacrificing one for another is tough.

OK, I didn't realize I didn't give the update.

So the ex challenged everything in March..after I moved, then we agreed to others in Sept, and she then challenged that, which led to me blowing the last of my savings and borrowing money to pay off an attorney and then I chose to represent myself.

Here is where things get weird. I have been trying to talk to my kids, not able to, literally two talks since Christmas..well, the Ex had major back surgery and then I get a message from my daughter telling me that my Exs boyfriend has been arrested for Child Endagerment and Harrasment charges for punching my ex in front of my youngest.

Later on, the Ex calls me in tears, apologizing for the hell she has made my life over the last 5 years and wanted me to know she was literally forced to do everything she had been doing or the boyfriend would beat the shit out of her.

Part of me feels for her, the rest of me is like, I fucking told you he was a slime ball when I met him.

Anyways, I just got off the phone with the Judge, her and her attorney. Everyone's tune has changed, the paperwork is being signed by the attorney, the challenges are dropped and the Judge today told us, we are officially divorced, it will take up to 30 days for the system to process everything and mail the official documents, but wished us both well with our life.

Second win, the Ex is moving back to Utah with the kids, so I will go back to my regular Weds and every other weekend visitations or whenever they want to come and chill.

You don't know how much of a weight off my shoulders this is. My GF, knowing what she was getting into, was growing weary of it all and was doubting it would ever be done.

That's it...next post in here....should be a wedding announcement!

Wow, I'd say that having them back close to you should make all the other stuff manageable. Of course, all that depends on the ex. Seeing the kids regularly and having them be a regular part of your life is priceless.

Absolutely, I have spoken to them regularly since her now ex-boyfriend is gone.

You have no ideas, the stories my kids have told me about his hatred for me, it was like a fixation. It actually scares me, that this man hated me for no other reason than I was the ex to his GF and he made comments like he was going to make me disappear..etc.

My kids know that I am armed, and they weren't concerned but they always thought in the back of their mind, what if...

Just re-establishing things is going to be a blessing.

Awesome news. Sounds like your ex picked a real shitbag after you guys split up. Any man who punches a female and/or child should have the snot kicked out of him in my opinion.

Good luck going forward!

Well, Cartman beat me to it...

I hit the knee and proposed to my love 2 months ago, and we put together a wedding of the ages (Well at least to us)

A shoestring budget ended up turning into an amazing affair with over 150 in attendance.

It was amazing to have Cartman there, I kept looking over where he was sitting and just kept smiling because I know every single one of you were there with him at that moment and I would get emotional.

I know I couldn't spend a ton of time talking to him because I was getting yanked in 900 directions.

But my life is in an amazing place right now. I have the perfect job, the perfect woman and now, a very large blended family (7 kids and 1 grandkid with another on the way).

To me, I feel the best part of this fairy tale is that we both found each other, and we both needed each other. It is truly an amazing feeling to find that soulmate, the one you have a perfect connection with.

You have helped me through hell, and now I need to start visiting more to share my happiness.
