Speaking of ratings, I decided to re-start my dynasty to play Barkley earlier and I just realized that a group of guys on OS have re-rated a bunch of players on every single team to be more accurate. For example, they lowered Barkley's speed on USC which the default rosters had too high (they had him almost as fast as Corp, now he is significantly slower but has a stronger arm which the default roster also had wrong.) They are getting very good reviews over there and are worth checking out for anyone who is starting/re-starting a dynasty. They can be downloaded from the gamertag romancaesar.

Dola -

They also added a bunch more freshman to each team. USC has 5 players they didn't have before. They also took off guys who can't play for whatever reason (such as Telfort due to his heart condition.)

Do you see Sheldon Richardson (DL) on Missouri?

I didn't look and I'm not able to get on the 360 again for a bit, but I'll look this evening. However, I'll be surprised if they don't have him on there. They look complete (within roster limitations) from the teams I did look at.

Welp, it only took 1 week in the OD to get fucked up results that don't match the actual results from user games. Nice job, EA.

The reason I ask is he is attending a junior college this year.. but now that I've played games with him on the first named roster, I don't want to not play with him.

I forgot that he ended up going the JC route. As expected, he is not on the updated roster. They removed anyone who isn't going to be on their team for whatever reason.

Looks like a 4th straight year of sales decreases for the NCAA franchise, which shouldn't be terribly shocking. Expect an overhaul of this game next year similar to the big changes in Madden this year.

Lost the opener 36-32 when Illinois recovered an onside kick and then scored with 0:32 left in the game.

Didn't help Gabbert's first pass was an INT that Illinois took for a pick 6 either.

Damn you orange and blue!

I created a school and I've been finally playing a bit now that I have the PS3 with me regularly. And I like it, mostly because of teambuilder and custom conferences (which I will detail for you.)

So is this worth getting? I'm debating between this and Madden, or waiting for awhile and getting both used.

I don't really play all that much (just started playing PS3 the other night...most of my online time is spent writing for the eMLB or working on my own OOTPX league), but would like to get at least one of them.

NCAA Football 10 Patch #2 Details (Pasta Padre) - Operation Sports Forums

No mention of fixing the progression issue in the 2nd patch. Also, I can tell you from personal experience that Online Dynasty is glitchy (screwed up game results twice in a row when advancing from Week 1 to Week 2 in year 1). My advice is to skip NCAA 2010.

Basically, NCAA 2010 is a big FU from our pals at EA.

This is too bad--it will be the first year I didn't buy NCAA since it came out for Xbox with Joey Harrington.

Ditto. This means that Madden will get most of my console football gaming time.

I don't have Xbox live, so I'd be doing solo play as well. But I don't want to play a long dynasty and have a game full of super players. Is that a wrong assumption? I'd love to buy it at Target this week for $49, but don't want a fatally flawed game.

Okay, a lot of people will defend this. But it will make crap teams with the NC all the time after the original players are gone. Basically get ready for all the team to be rated A+. The AI will then give pretty much all of those teams a shot at winning games they would NEVER win.

Yeah, that's not very fun. Part of the fun of a dynasty is taking a low or middling team to the top. That happens by default under this system. It's too bad they didn't/couldn't fix it.

How many seasons does this take for this to happen? I was into my 5th season with 09 and didn't see any of this.

If it's many many seasons, then I'm fine with it.

I guess the patch is out, since my game updated last night.

10 is definitely harder, we stand at 0-2 now after getting run over by Bowling Green.

It doesn't happen with 09. It happens with the game that just came out. From everything I read it takes three years.

I absolutely love this game's on-field stuff, but I just can't stand the narrowing of the overall ranges.

Also, from everything I've experienced and read, the on-field action remains largely unchanged. The problem is, when all of the AI teams play each other, it sees that Penn State is an A+ and Toledo is a B+ (Just making an example), and Toledo will win that game too often.

I'm midway through 2018 here's the Top 25

1- Ohio State - 2011
2- Alabama
3- USC - 2010
4- St Louis State (me) - 2015
5- Michigan State
6- USF
7- Oklahoma State - 2017
8- Boise State
9- Oregon State
10- LSU
11- Oregon
12- Cal
13- Virginia Tech
14- Rutgers - 2013
15- Wisconsin
16- Georgia Tech
17- Buffalo
18- Texas
19- Troy
20- Cincy
21- Colorago
22- Clemson
23- Penn State
24- Miami - 2012
25- West Virginia

I only saw a mid-major in the NC once and that was Boise State who lost to Oklahoma. The last time a team won a national championship is listed next to the teams that have won it in my dynasty. Florida won it in 2009, Oklahoma in 2014 and 2016.

Have not played road to glory much. Only a couple of games into the freshman year. Seems like the only real difference is Erin Andrews narrates your journey.

I'm wondering the same thing.. heading over to OS now to check.. cool, the very rare 3rd patch was released. Developers have confirmed that it is supposed to "tone down" progression and fix the online disconnects in online dynasties.

The downside is that it apparently totally screws up sim stats down the line.

Quoted from the link that EF27 posted.
Sim stats are now worse.
- QB's aren't putting up good #'s at all.
- Pass TDs are WAY DOWN.
- QB completion % is WAY DOWN
- QB Ratings are WAY DOWN
- HB's YPC is down from the already down state it was in
- Somehow WR #'s look fine...

I think this is what he was referring to. Hope that helps.

That pretty much sums it up. They go into more detail in the thread, but the short of it is that the offensive stats go down a lot with the lowered talent level.

Here is a post copied from OS that starts the sim in year 6, so all of the players are generated recruits. Doesn't look that bad. Favors defense a little bit more than the real stats from 2005.

120/150
120/149
119/140

sacks look good... so nothing there.
INTS, look fine too, at least the top 10; too many have 5 or more though.

Kick return yards
987/836
940/767
923/741
917/736
902/705

hmmm the actual attempts was SLIGHTLY higher, and the avg yards per attempt was like 2 yards per higher than the real life counter part. so, not that bad I guess.

So... running backs are for sure off... mainly has to do with their avg carry it appears. Also, the Qb's average per attempt is kinda off too, but the per completion is cool... Interceptions are bad.

Are they going to do another patch, this seems like something that could be fixed, somehow...

Now contemplating a buy after the progression fiexed. For some reason the idea of bad progression bothered me more than worse sim stats. Although I guess I might win all the awards because of it.
