Prayers needed

Folks,

I know I haven't been around much lately, most of that is due to work. Yesterday my dad had two strokes, one on his occipital lobe area and the other on his cerebellum.

He is in the hospital right now, they haven't found the blockage that caused them yet, today they are doing a 3D ultrasound of the heart.

Here is the issue, because the cerebellum is weak and bleeds easy, he has been removed from candidacy of surgery for now. So any repairs and other things have to be done naturally which will eliminate my dad from being able to drive...ever again, work....ever again.

Today is his birthday and he is only 59.....Prayers for strength and fast recovery are needed.

Awful to go through that so young. I hope your Dad will be okay, Dennis. Hang in there.

Will be praying for you - my mother has had a stroke and my grandmother has had multiple. Will pray your father can bounce back like my mother and grandmother did.

My mom had several strokes that were caused by a deformed heart valve. If they aren't finding any blockage in the brain, he might have something similar at work.

EDIT: Also thoughts and prayers sent.

Guess it's time for an update.

I flew into Vegas Tuesday evening (Dads Birthday) went straight to the hospital.

1st Thing: Hospital he is at, is a joke...I will get into this later...

2nd Thing: After all the tests and everything they found it was the heart throwing the clots and are getting it taken care of

3rd Thing: Now the swelling is going down, they are saying all damage can be repaired.

He will be in for a long haul on some speech therapy, physical therapy and anything else they assign to him.

He is upbeat, not going to let this keep him down. He is frustrated because he is unable to use the right hand properly right now and he wears out easily.

I had to fly out today for work but I left in much better spirits and knowing he is going to survive AND get better.

Excellent news, and glad he's doing well in spite of the Russian roulette of Vegas hospitals.

Dad was just moved to an acute rehab facility and they are being very aggressive on their treatment. From talking to my step mom and my sister, it's amazing at his progress....
