I'm old, but Joe DiMaggio and Mr. Coffee stand out to me. If you remember percolators and undrinkable instant, DiMaggio helped spark a revolution. He is the Che Guevara of pitchmen.

Even further back (to b&w days) was Yogi Berra and Yoohoo--which he owned, eventually. I couldn't find the "Yogi's climbing up the wall" commercial that we kids loved, unfortunately.
