Anthony Chau of 2K sports interview more or less confirms a 2K Football game in 2007!
http://www.allgames.com/radio.asp?show=agi Just wait until 2007. Videogaming is back in 2007 with a 2K Football game in a big way for me!! Speaking of big I'm also looking forward to The BIGS and I'm hoping it is reminisent to Baseball Stars in the sense of being an exciting game of baseball, homerun robbing catches and all. Long live 2K Sports!!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by rm217; 12-11-2006, 08:38 AM.Tags: None -

can't wait. The baseball stars reference is excellent. I never thought of that. If they do a football game on par with that that'd be aight by me.RIP #21

Re: Anthony Chau of 2K sports interview more or less confirms a 2K Football game in 2
Listen to part B of the interview for the 2K Football questions, FYI.
He says: "Wait till 2007" so he refuses to flat deny a game, though that is NOT a direct confirmation either. You could take it as 2K Sports considering a game in 2007... for release in 2008, for example.
I'm inclined to think we see something in 2007 though...Comment

I don't think he's misleading. I do think OS should try and set up an interview with him. That would be nice.
I'm excited.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

I thought that was a really good interview by Scott Rubin; was pretty informative. I really liked the comments about signature style/animations and their importance in next gen. Also thought it was interesting they seem quite aware what Madden next gen is versus it's current gen counterpartHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Finally, I like the idea of setting up an interview but keep in mind that Anthony is a PR guy so even if we set up an interview there is a good chance he would give us the same answers. PR guys in most fields are good at giving you just enough info to keep u interested.Comment

An interview is great in theory, but clearly Chau's hands are tied. They are not going to show their hand till the perfect moment. This is too damn big.Listen to The Remodeling Clay Podcast!

Re: Anthony Chau of 2K sports interview more or less confirms a 2K Football game in 2
When did Chau get so chatty? lol
From what I remember, it was almost like pulling teeth to get him to say something that wasn't already in some generic feature list or an upcoming "Football Friday". He's a good guy, but this is clearly a strategic interview by the VC camp. That pretty much means what was already said... if OS interviewed AC they'd get the same answers. It also means what I'm sure some of us already knew... they are working on a football game.
Most importantly it also says something else that most of us already knew... we have no idea when it will be coming out.Comment

The funny thing is im more excited because of the effect that the 2K game will have on Madden than i am for the actual 2K game. EA cant rest on its laurels like its done the last 2 yrs.Comment

Re: Anthony Chau of 2K sports interview more or less confirms a 2K Football game in 2
If I was part of the decision making process at 2K I would also "play my cards close". I would probably not want to make any announcements until it's too late for EA to make huge changes in the Madden product.
So my question for all of the programming gurus out there is what would the deadline be for EA to stop making big changes? April? May? June? I would think that if it's a complete overhaul/new engine it's probably already too late.Comment

Another solid piece of that interview, Chau says, "There's a couple of special projects that are...in gear." Perhaps the other is a Boxing title as the interviewer suggests.
I'm pretty excited about this, and I'm certain that 2K is well aware of what that interview has done.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
