Senior year, coming off the bench his entire life, last year to prove himself. He has dreams of doing big and making it out the streets. He and his family have been struggling with money and he wants to be able to take care of them through a possible NBA career. He believes in himself, but scouts don’t. This year, that changes.

They were able to recruit a top 10 prospect in Roy Marsh who has been impressing scouts for a while now. They even have Ballislife and Overtime trying to check this guy out. So that means Hudson Catholic will be playing up against big teams this year. Everyone wants to see Roy Marsh but that’s all they have.

The first game that Hudson Catholic have on their schedule is a big one. They have to go up against Cole Anthony and Kofi Cockburn with Oak Hill. It’s definitely going to be a tough one for Roy and Hudson Catholic, but will they pull it off?

Jalen Cook- The Rise Of An NBA Star

Jalen Cook comes in the game with about 4:29 minutes left in the first quarter. He played 16 out of 40 minutes. One flaw in the game he played was the amount of turnovers. Those did not need to happen. But for Roy Marsh he totally dominated in front of scouts, he dominated and looked like the next Shaq on the court. With 44 points and 50 rebounds, nobody could stop him, not even Oak Hill. Jalen Cook impressed scouts a little bit so they will be on the look out but it could have just been a good game. As for his coach, he was really impressed and Jalen will be the 6th man. Jalen was excited but just went back to the gym to put in more work for their next game against Spire.

Jalen Cook’s next game that he has been training for is against Lamelo and Rocket which is debatably the best backcourt in the country. Scouts from Kansas showed up and a fan in the stands screamed as Jalen shot his first free throw, “you won’t get recognition!”
Jalen took that to heart and thought it the entire game. At halftime Jalen had 14 and the same fan screamed, “still not enough!”. He got subbed out with 2 minutes left in the 3rd and got put back in with 5 minutes left in the fourth down 71-60. He remembered the fans comment, and thought about it EVERY PLAY.
He played for two minutes gave them momentum and they were up 78-72. He played lockdown defense every play and fed his teammates. He finished with 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Hudson Catholic were undefeated this year led by Roy marsh and Jalen cook. They are entering the second round of the playoffs facing up against Julian Newman. The first round they played a small school and blew them out by 40. Jalen scored 34 in that game which was just enough to finally get the starting spot.

Julian Newman was a problem tonight for Hudson, they were up by 20, and then the bench came in and lit the entire game WITHOUT Julian Newman. Jalen Cook kept turning the ball over because teammates wouldn’t catch the ball so with 1:50 minutes left in the 4th, The Patriots were up by 8. With a clutch performance scoring 8 they were tied and the game was forced into overtime. In overtime there was 23 seconds left 91-91, Patriots ball. Julian Newman turned the ball over and Jalen Cook got the ball in the post, him in the post is definitely not his game but he shot it and as the clock winded down it swished into the net. They moved on into the National Championship! Jalen went off with 54 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. That game proved everyone that he was a top prospect in the nation.

The championship game, what we’ve all been waiting for is here! Jalen Cook and Roy Marsh hs Jalen Green, The #1 player in the country of 2020. Jalen Cook is excited for this matchup, the final game of the year. He wants to demolish this team but we’ll see...

Jalen Cook scored 23 at half but missed about 5 in a row before the half. Coach told him not to worry about scouts but then he told him a duke scout was there. He missed about 2 shots but then went on a run while they were down 2 in about 4 minutes they were up by 10. In that run Jalen Cook scores 8 and 4 assists.
In the end, Jalen Cook had 50 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 4 steals. Not only that but they were National Champions! That’s the end of his High School Career! He finished his outstanding year with 7 offers. Duke, Kansas, Oregon, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Miami, Ohio State. He will be visiting teams soon.

The infamous words: a Duke scout is there. Glad to see Jalen not succumb to the pressure of what appears to be his college of choice. With him having such a success high school career - I’m looking forward to what awaits him college - Go Jalen! 👍🏻
