So, heya!
This is my first dynasty in this forum. I picked the Grizzlies because in real life they're such a fun team to watch, and also their rebuild happened in a blink of an eye and I feel that that'd be cool to recreate in 2K. I don't have 2K22 though so I'm doing it on 2K21, and the roster here is pretty solid.

Some takeaways:

• This'll be an 82-game season, and I'll be playing all of games and all of the minutes. It's a casual thing I do so updates will probably be done whenever I feel like it. I just want to have fun with the playing and posting and editing, and so far I'm having a blast!
• Had a tough time in the 1st half because of those missed threes. Melton, Dillon, and Jaren had mostly corner and open 3's and we barely made them, but thankfully we brought it back in the 2nd half. I feel like a better team would've made our misses pay, but you take what you get with a win like this, especially since they started the season hot.
• When in doubt, give the ball to Morant and drive down the lane haha.
• I need to learn how to use Jaren more, because his potential is sky high yet I'm not 100% sure on how to play him.
• I decided to start Melton, Bane, and Tillman over more established guys like Valančiūnas and Brooks because I wanted shooters to utilize Morant's playmaking (Melton and Bane are pretty good usually) and I felt that Jaren's future was on the center position (I was *mostly* correct based on this one game, even though Wood cooked us, I felt Jaren played good D, he also had multiple blocks (5!)), so I had Valančiūnas come off the bench as our main rim protector and rebounder.
• Speaking of Wood, him and Gordon torched us. Would be interesting to see what they would do with them, especially Gordon as I feel contending teams would be interested in him.
• I decided not to play Winslow because I couldn't utilize him well after practicing with the squad, he was kinda slow. He defended well, but that's about it. Might consider trading him and Valančiūnas for assets, we'll see how that goes, or if y'all have any, drop a suggestion!
• I decided to also do expansion teams as I feel that that would be fun. It'll be interesting to see how they do as the season goes. I decided to hold the draft manually and pick the players I feel are the most valuable ones that they left unprotected, I also manually chose which players to leave unprotected based on how I feel they would do it. My biggest decision was leaving DeMar unprotected, and I feel like they would after Aldridge's departure and the state of their roster now leaves them very young and prime for a rebuild. Him and Wall are the perfect cornerstones for a new franchise since they embraced their previous teams really well I feel (DeMar in Toronto, Wall in Washington).

I know, they're the surprise of the season imo, they're way ahead of their rebuild schedule and it's so great to see! The fact that they're amazing with Ja and basically the greatest team in history without him is hilarious as well. Great start to the season! Although I've only beaten teams that are either rebuilding (Rockets), at our level or even above (Wizards), or basically a new franchise (Lions), but I'll take what I can get. I'm very curious to see how I do against the in-game versions of the good teams such as Nets, Lakers, Bucks etc.
I got better at playing as Jaren, but it's still not at optimal level. He just kinda bricks 3's a lot to be honest, thankfully Morant and the other shooters can pick up his slack, but if this keeps up I might have to adjust Jaren's play style somehow.
If you notice, most of my highest scorers are the guards and wings, I'm not super skilled when it comes to playing as the bigs, so maybe that's why Jaren (and to an extent, the likes of Valančiūnas, Clarke, and Tillman as well) don't do as good as the guards and wings.

This was the closest game I've played so far! I only really had to deal with Mitchell at Utah, but in Dallas, it seemed like everybody just made every shot. Dončić is an absolute madman, everything he shot seemed like it went in for the first 3 quarters, even the Mavericks as a whole were playing really fluid offense passing left and right and dissecting my defense, but then Dončić just started taking the wildest shots ever, in the 4th quarter most were unnecessary as well, and that what got me back in the game, cause' if he didn't go AWOL, I would've lost in my opinion.
Oh, and Morant won player of the week, I've never had a player on my team win it before in my days of playing 2K!

Thanks! I definitely think this is a well balanced squad, with Morant capable of being lights out, plenty of shooters, pretty good rebounding and rim protection, and decent depth. Maybe I might do some trades to take advantage of some people I can't utilize to their maximum potential (Winslow, Clarke) or just to maximize their value and get something in return (Valančiūnas), I also feel we might benefit from at least one more 3&D player, but overall, the team's really good!
