Andy Katz just broke a story during the Tenn-GTown bball game that Lane Kiffin will be named the new football coach at Tennessee on Monday.

I don't understand the fascination about Kiffin. He failed as the coach of the Oakland Raiders, so now you're going to make him the head coach of one of the most prestigious programs in college football?

Anyway, not too pleased with this really. I get the feeling Kiffin might turn into a "job jumper". Now, I know there is no evidence of that, but I get the feeling the minute a decent job in the PAC-10 opens up, he would go.

Still. he's better than Fulmer, has high level coaching experience, and is young enough that he can probably relate well to recruits. Not in my top 10 choices though. Hamilton did this too fast in my opinion.

Nah, Fulmer is completely ineffectual at preparing the team for their opponents. He also is doing a pretty poor job at developing the talent we have been recruiting.

His time had come to leave.

Interestng, I would've hired him at a school that's on the down swing rather then a prestigious and fairly competitive program right now. It'll make expectations completely unrealistic.

I think he'll do a good job though.

Where exactly did I call HIM stupid? I called his reasoning stupid. There IS a difference. I attacked the statement, not the person who made it.
