You can run the ball out of a spread formation a lot more effectively vs. USC than you can when you line up in 21 personel and try to pound it.

I know USC has a good offense, but we need to step it up. This is the polar opposite ND defense we saw the first 11 games. No pressure on Wittek, getting gashed on the ground.
