Re: Flying Through the Big Apple - RoundingThird's New York Jets (M17)
Just read through this thread and I totally didn't see those trades coming. Figured you might have made a trade for a qb due to the hints in one of your posts, but my mind was blown when I saw what the trades really were. Let's hope Gurley and Gronk don't flop for you.
I'm following, love the details you put in your posts. Hopefully you can take the Jets to the super bowl, I'm rooting for you!

Haha this is awesome -- love the drunken negotiation plot and dammmmmmn, Gurley/Gronk???
Only thing that scares me is as injury heavy this game is, and the history of both those guys getting hurt, I'm edge of my seat every time I see "player down" and hoping it's not one of those two rolling around in the injury animation...eeeeek!

Do it! I really like this game's version despite the extreme sensitivity on the sliders. I spent the better part of a week before I started playing these games tweaking and tweaking, until I finally found what I think is the most realistic slider set for me. Thanks for checking in!

Thanks for reading through... Most people don't anymore. I was trying to have the hints point toward the acquisition of a QB on purpose, just to make it even more surprising, and see the look on your faces (so to speak) when I revealed who I actually gave up, and who I got in return. I'm definitely going to miss Decker and Richardson, but it was totally worth it.

Yeah, I'm terrified too. I don't know if you saw what happened to Revis in week 1 for me. Dove to the ground trying to tackle Brandon LaFell of the Bengals, and ended up with a broken collarbone. Luckily, he'll be back soon, but, he missed our difficult 6 game stretch to start the season, with 5 games against 2015 playoff teams, and the other game a Primetime game against the team that cost us a playoff berth. Hopefully I can get through the Pittsburgh and Arizona games without more injuries, especially to those two guys I just got.

Yeah, it's funny how that worked out. Gronk, keeping the number 87, took Decker's jersey, who just happened to be conveniently traded at the same time. Gurley, though, was #30 with the Rams, and #3 with Georgia in college, but takes the #23, which belonged to Shonn Greene, the most important player on the Jets offense during their run to two straight AFC Championships in '09 and '10.

Jets Gameday Preview: Week 5
We meet today at Heinz Field, the staple of the Steel City, and home to many great Steelers moments over the years.
Enough about the trade. It's time to play a game, and this is a big one. The Jets have something to prove. Was it the right move to dump Fitzpatrick to LA? Will the addition of Todd Gurley immediately allow the Jets to run the ball? What about Gronk? Will he be Gronk, or will he be Gronk? Most importantly, can this team play offense?
You see, the emphasis today is on the Jets offense, because the Steelers' offense is among the best in the league in every single major category. The way the Jets defense has played, you can't expect much in the way of resistance, so if the Jets want to win, they have to hope that they outscore Pittsburgh, which is quite the task, because the Steelers' offense is loaded. Two weeks ago, the team of Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown just went off, completely overpowering the Eagles to move to 3-0. Now, last week, they met their match, dropping one to the undefeated Chiefs, but the point still stands. AB is Big Ben's Lethal Weapon. The only problem? Martavis Bryant is Lethal Weapon 2, Markus Wheaton is Lethal Weapon 3, and tight end Ladarius Green is Lethal Weapon 4. We would add Le'Veon Bell to this list of deadly players on offensive, but he's sitting this one out due to injury. DeAngelo Williams is the workhorse out of the backfield today, but it shouldn't matter, because the Jets are the worst in the league when it comes to stopping the run.
Meanwhile, if the Jets want to run up the score, they have to do it against a defensive unit that is a lot different than those from the glory days. The biggest veteran presence is, of course, James Harrison, but other than that, there are a lot of fresh, menacing faces with a lot of upside. Rookie DT Javon Hargrave has tremendous potential, and was tearing it up in the preseason. He is joined on the front line by Cameron Heyward, a worthy, tested pass rusher. Moving to the linebackers, we find Arthur Moats, Lawrence Timmons, and the aforementioned Harrison, who will look to sack Geno, strip Gurley, and then stop in front of the occasional pass. Finally, the secondary is headed by William Gay, who should spend most of his time on Brandon Marshall.
