Hey guys welcome to my Madden 20 franchise. Hoping for some realistic results and so far I like what I'm seeing from the game. Playing 9 minute quarters with the accelerated clock, toughest difficulty, and I will tweak the sliders as I go as I feel needed. I hope you guys will enjoy!

      PRESEASON WEEK 1
      DALLAS 25, SAN FRANCISCO 23

OS [Santa Clara, CA] - It's back! After a long and eventful (as always) off-season, NFL football is back. The preseason variety of course. With fresh faces on both sides of the ball, fans packed Levi Stadium for a matchup between two of the more storied NFL franchises.

Starters played a minimum in tonights early preseason matchup. Dak Prescott saw action in only one drive to start the game off. However, during that drive he completed all four of his passes for 55 yards, setting up an Alfred Morris touchdown run, one of two on the night for Morris.

Cooper Rush and Mike White both saw time in back up of Prescott. Head coach Jason Garret has not yet decided on who the backup will be, both are unproven, as previous back up Kellen Moore is now the teams Offensive Coordinator.

The first three quarters of tonights game belonged to Dallas, as they stormed out to a large 22-3 lead entering the fourth and final quarter. This is when Nick Mullens, in relief of 49ers starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo, made up for his two earlier interceptions, by leading a comeback which included 20 unanswered points. Two huge touchdown receptions brought in by new face Jordan Matthews, one of which included an 80 yard catch and run, made the Cowboys backup defense look silly.

Cowboys third string QB Mike White, threw two horrid interceptions to set up the comeback, thought he kept his composure to lead a drive in the final minute and a half to set up a game winning 37 yard field goal by Brett Maher.

NOTES:Cowboys star RB Ezekiel Elliot saw action in two drives in the first quarter. He left the game with tightness in his shoulder, he is expected to practice. The teams Executive VP Stephen Jones has said the team has been in talks with multiple QB's including Brock Osweiler in regards to the teams back up QB position. The Cowboys have to be happy with what they saw from their rookies in their first ever NFL action. Trysten Hill had a sack and a tackle in his first drive of his career, and the rookie running back duo of Tony Pollard and Mike Weber combined for 104 yards on the ground.

UP NEXT:The preseason rolls along with Week 2 coming in hot. The Cowboys will remain in California for the week and make the trip south to LA to take on the defending NFC Champion Rams.

COWBOYS TO SIGN OSWEILER, CUT MIKE WHITE
        8-9-2019-7-43-35-PM-ggou4bwc-png
OS [Dallas, TX]-The rumor mill began to swirl late last week that the Cowboys were looking to upgrade their depth at the Quarterback. And now it seems they have done just that. The team has agreed to terms with seven year veteran Brock Osweiler on a one year deal, that can be worth up to $2.5 million. Last year with the Dolphins, Osweiler threw for six touchdowns and four interceptions in limited action.

With the signing, the team also announced the release of QB Mike White. White who was drafted in the 5th round out of Western Kentucky, was in his second season. He never saw any regular season action, and struggles in his only preseason action this season.

          PRESEASON WEEK 2
DALLAS 47, LOS ANGELES RAMS 10

          8-9-2019-9-09-12-PM-t05sdanl-png
Jared Goff struggled tonight throwing 2 ints and fumbling once in only limited action.

OS [Los Angeles, CA]-The Cowboys extended preseason stay in California continued this week as they took on the defending NFC Champion Rams. Through gusty winds and moderate rain the game went on, and the Cowboys trounced the Rams to move to 2-0 in the preseason.

As to be expected the starters again played limited minutes in todays game, although most saw a slight increase from the previous week. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott each played the first quarter and both played well. Dak completed all three of his passes and included a touchdown pass to new Cowboy Randall Cobb from 16 yards out. Zeke ran one in from four yards out in a first quarter that saw three Los Angeles turnovers, all from Jared Goff. (Two interception, 1 fumble.)

Goff was not the only Ram to struggle tonight. The whole defense did not show up, allowing 47 points to the Cowboys. Though running for 47 yards on just eight carries, star running back Todd Gurley was hampered by Goff's poor play and could not find the end zone. New back up quarter back Blake Bortles ran one in with three minutes left in the game to bring the score to 47-10. This was the Rams only touchdown on the day.

Earlier in the week Dallas had announced they signed veteran quarterback Brock Osweiler, who presumably will be the teams backup. Osweiler saw limited action in todays game, completing one pass for negative yards. Cooper Rush who beat out previously cut Mike White, continued his strong preseason, completing just over half of his passes including a score.

NOTES:Alfred Morris continues to impress the coaching staff after resigning with the team just before camp. Morris scored two more times in tonights game, bringing his preseason total to four in the first two games. Randall Cobb and Michael Gallup have taken a liking to each other and have been seen after practice numerous times together working out. Leighton Vander Esch had a team high seven tackles in only one half of play.

UP NEXT:The Battle of Texas is up next in the third preseason week. The Cowboys head home to Jerrys World for the first time this year to take on in their in state rival Houston Texans.

Veteran TE Jason Witten has had a strong showing so far in his return to Dallas after a 1 year retirement.

OS [DALLAS, TX] - The Battle of Texas preseason edition took place on Saturday night and fans looking for an action packed preseason game did not exactly get what they want. Starters played for the whole first half for the Cowboys, while the Texans extended their starters to the third quarter. Even with the extended playing time, both offenses struggled to get anything going, and the Cowboys came away with a 16-10 victory.

Free agent addition Robert Quinn recovered a fumble late in the third quarter forced by Jaylon Smith and ran untouched 12 yards into the end zone. This gave the Cowboys a 16-3 lead they would not relinquish. Along with the fumble recovery for a score, safety Xavier Woods intercepted DeShaun Watson, adding on to the top notch defensive play we have season from the Cowboys in the preseason. Watson was sloppy throughout his three quarters of action completing just over 50% of his passes for 70 yards.

Dak Prescott failed to find the end zone although he did break the century mark and looked sharp throughout the first half. Brock Osweiler took over in the second half but was benched after throwing an interception and giving up a fumble in just one quarter of play. Fellow camp addition RB Alfred Morris continues his hot preseason with 90 more yards.

Carlton Davis III intercepts Brock Osweiler late in the 3rd quarter to set up a late comeback attempt.

OS [DALLAS, TX] - Cowboys fans rejoice! The preseason has officially come to an end. Thats right, after Thursday nights 24-10 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cowboys can say they have finished the exhibition campaign with a perfect record. Most starters only played a quarter, two at most, but an impact was made and the Cowboys came out on top.

Amari Cooper had the game we were eagerly anticipating this preseason with a touchdown score (from Prescott in the first) and 77 yards on four catches. "It felt nice to finally make an impact, I know it's only preseason but you still want to go out there and perform. Limited snaps, fake game, whatever the case." Cooper was quoted saying after the game. Along with Coopers score, Alfred Morris ran it in from 14 yards out to cap off quite an impressive preseason for the backup running back.

Despite holding onto the lead the entire game, things got sketchy late in the third quarter when Cowboys backup quarterback Brock Osweiler threw his second interception of the game, this one deep in enemy territory. The turnover resulted in an 83-yard touchdown catch and pass from Blaine Gabbert to rookie wide out Scott Miller on the very next play. At the time this brought the game to 10-7. Osweiler threw his only touchdown of the game late in the fourth quarter to Tavon Austin on a slant from two yards out.

The Cowboys defense has been a bright spot all preseason. The secondary was held without an interception today for the first time all preseason. This is exciting to see for coaches and fans alike as it has been a weakness in years past. Rookie defensive tackle Trysten Hill continues to improve, as he recorded two sacks in the game.

OS [DALLAS,TX]- What at first seemed like a disastrous day for the Cowboys reversed course and ended with a victory, as the Cowboys trumped their division rival Giants 31-14 at home to open the season.

Giants star running back Saquon Barkley took the ball on the first play of the game and ran 75 yards for a touchdown score. It was an impressive run as he made five defenders miss in total with many a nifty move. Unfortunately for Giants fans, Barkley would carry the ball just two more times before being injured early in the first with a strained shoulder. His backup Wayne Gallman Jr. filled in quite well rushing for over 100 yards and breaking a 77 yard touchdown score of his own.

On the home sideline Ezekiel Elliott was taking notes, as he said anything you can do I can do better. Elliott rushed for a career high 254 yards on 25 carries. The offensive line was a force upfront, letting Elliott break big run after big run. This allowed Dak and the passing game to really take their time and feel out the tempo of the game. Throwing the ball just 12 times, Dak completed nine of his passes, for two scores both to Amari Cooper.

With much longer time of possession, Eli Manning and the Giants were throwing the ball over the field. Though Manning had success, you can tell they were missing the big play ability of a one Odell Beckham Jr. No interceptions were thrown by Manning, but he also did not throw for any scores.

The Cowboys defense recorded three sacks with freshly extended DeMarcus Lawrence recording two to start off the season. Leighton Vander Esch led all tacklers with 11.

Despite going up 7-0 within the first 15 seconds, the Giants would not regain the lead for the entirety of the game. Wayne Gallman Jr.'s 77 yard touchdown run brought the score to 17-14, as close as they would come.

NOTES:Prior to the week, the Cowboys had announced they had cut third string quarterback Cooper Rush. In his place they have signed QB Colt McCoy, the 32 year old veteran was cut by the Washington Redskins following the preseason.

OS [WASHINGTON D.C.]- Starting off the season against two division rivals is never a fun a thing to do, especially in the NFC East where anything goes. The Cowboys have made the most of their opportunities and two weeks in have secured two division wins.

Back to back weeks now the Dallas defense has had the luxury of playing against back up running backs. Adrian Peterson is recovering from a broken arm suffered in preseason. This meant rookie Bryce Love and veteran Chris Thompson would have the reigns. Dallas took advantage by allowing just 238 yards, only 39 on the ground. Demarcus Lawrence keeps proving he is worth the contract, forcing two fumbles, one which was scooped up by veteran Sean Lee who ran it in for the score.

Looking to build on his momentum from his career game in Week 1, Zeke carried the ball 24 times for 117 yards, he failed to find the end zone, though back up Alfred Morris is proving his worth as a goal line / third down back scoring twice on just three carries.

The Redskins got to within three before the half, as Case Keenum found former Cowboy Terrance Williams in the end zone to make the score 10-7. However that would be the only score of the day for the Redskins who scored 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter last week to defeat the Eagles.

Dak Prescott threw the ball well minus his two interceptions. One was completely his fault, thrown in the end zone trying to force a slant route. The other wideout Michael Gallup fell to the ground, allowing Dominique Rodgers-Chromartie the easy interception.

With the win the Cowboys move to 2-0 and now have the luxury of heading home for a week before they face off against the Saints in New Orleans. But whose looking ahead! Next week the Dolphins are welcomed to Jerrys World. The Dolphins are coming off a Week 1 tie, and a Week 2 loss to the New England Patriots.

As will I! Lucky for me though Saquon got hurt after 3 carries (which is fine because first play he went 77 yards untouched)! And Adrian Peterson was out when i played the Skins!

                      thanks for checking in!

(CLICK TO ENLARGE) 1) Ezekiel Elliott dives into the end zone for 1 of his 2 rushing touchdowns. 2) CH Chidobe Awuzie makes a great defensive play in the end zone. 3)Ezekiel Elliott has nothing but open field after his screen pass catch. 4) Miami second year RB Kalen Ballage scored his first career TD on a pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick.

OS [DALLAS, TX] - Dak Prescott had his best game of the young season and Ezekiel Elliot continued his blazing start to the year, as the Cowboys easily dispatched the winless Miami Dolphins 31-20 at home. The magic of Ryan Fitzpatrick wasn't enough as his comeback bid in the final frame came up just short.

As mentioned Prescott had his best game of the season, the young QB threw for 270 yards and two scores, more importantly no interceptions which have plagued him over his career. His first strike came to Randall Cobb, his first touchdown as a Cowboy, the second was an 85-yard catch and run screen play from Ezekiel Elliott. The play came after a 10-yard loss via sack, one of six on the day for the Dolphins.

Along with his 85-yard screen touchdown, Zeke pounded in two scores on the ground to go with his 142 yards on the ground. He has now broke 100 yards each game this season. "All credit to the big guys up front, these guys are incredible, I'm not getting touched until I'm two yards out the hole." Zeke told a reporter after the game.

In an odd stat, the Dolphins only ran the ball four times in todays game. Kenyon Drake received the carries and had moderate success with a 5.2 clip per carrie. It makes you wonder what would have been had they had a more balanced attack? Ryan Fitzpatrick was great throwing for 334 yards and two scores. He found Kenny Stills on a deep ball from 45 yards out to begin the fourth quarter, giving the Dolphins hope, but none would come as the Dallas defense would make big stops when called upon.

NEWS: During the week the Cowboys had two huge announcements. They have agreed to contract extensions with both star WR Amari Cooper and star CB Byron Jones. Coopers deal is for 4 years, $59.1 Million, while Byron Jones signed a 3 year, $46.4 Million extension. This is great for the future of the team, locking up two of its best playmakers on both sides of the ball.

OS [NEW ORLEANS, LA]- What a game at the Superdome! Two of the NFC’s most high powered offenses were matched up against each other on Sunday and they did not disappoint. Drew Brees came out firing throwing for over 200 yards and four scores in just the first half, Dak Prescott matched with two scored and 150 yards himself.

The Saints started the scoring early when Jared Cook who had 117 yards receiving on the day, broke free and scored on a 55 yard catch and run. The Cowboys would answer with a field goal and a quick score to Michael Gallup, set up by a Jaylon Smith forced fumble. Heading into the second quarter the Cowboys were up 10-7.

The second quarter was all Brees and New Orleans, as Brees would throw three touchdown passes in the quarter. The most impressive was a 21-yard bullet to Rishard Matthews in the back of the endzone. Speedster Ted Ginn Jr. who was a thorn all day in the punt return game, also had a receiving touchdown in the quarter. Things were looking bleak for the Cowboys down 28-17 at the half.

Whatever adjustments Rod Marinelli had the defense make at the half worked, as the D came out roaring in the second half. They shutout the high powered Saints in the final half allowing the offense to come roaring back. A field goal from Brett Maher in the third would bring the team within eight heading into the final quarter.

With three minutes left Dak would find Amari Cooper on a slant in the end zone to bring the Cowboys within two, in need of the two point conversion. They would successfully complete the conversion with a pass to Tavon Austin. With less than two minutes left Drew Brees would be getting the ball back. His second half struggles continued as DeMarcus Lawrence would find his way to the quarterback and force a sack fumble, recovered by the Cowboys in New Orleans territory!

A few run plays would set up a Brett Maher 38 yard field goal for the win. Sean Payton tried to ice the kicker, but Maher was money giving the Cowboys a come from behind victory, allowing the team to stay undefeated!

OS [DALLAS, TX] - The Cowboys stayed hot Sunday night with a 35-7 trouncing of the Green Bay Packers. Things haven’t exactly gone to plan for the Pack with new head coach Matt LaFleur, as the team fell to 2-3 on the young season.

The Cowboys defense was able to neutralize Davante Adams all game for just 2 catches and 36 yards, without his main playmaker Aaron Rodgers was forced to dump the ball off al game for short 5-6 yards completions. He finished with just 135 yards and a score to Geronimo Allison who led the Pack with 49 yards receiving.

Cowboys young tight end Blake Jarwin continues to succeed in the red zone as the former Oklahoma State standout hauled in two more scores today. “Having a 6’5 target, 260-275 lbs out there, the dude is a beast. You really can’t miss him out there.” Prescott told reporters after the game. Always giving credit to his teammates, Dak continues to improve each game. He threw a season high four touchdowns today and again did not throw any interceptions.

It goes to say, without Ezekiel Elliott paving the way on the ground the passing game wouldn’t be so wide open. Zeke carried the ball 31 times for 144 yards, really letting the Cowboys dominate possession, as they have all year long. In fact Jason Garret credits the teams success to just that.

“If you think about it, our offense is out there twice as long as our defense this year. Our defense is rested, to me is such a big deal, they are out there fresh each and every down. And that honestly all starts with the O-Line and Zeke, that’s why i love this game. It’s all connected.” Garret was gushing after the game and he has every reason to, as his team is off to there best start in years.

Coming up the Cowboys make their first of two trips to New Jersey this year. This trip they will face off against the New York Jets. The Jets are 1-3 on the year, though there lone win came against the Tom Brady led Patriots.

BREAKING NEWS: Before the game it was announced the Cowboys and QB Dak Prescott have come to terms on a 5-year contract extension. The deal is said to be worth $130 million, this is the 3rd high profile player the Cowboys have come to an extension with this season. Earlier this season they locked up WR Amari Cooper and CB Byron Jones. The Cowboys young core will be here to stay.

OS [East Rutherford, NJ] - The Cowboys have made the most out of their first trip to MetLife stadium beating the New York Jets 26-3 earning the teams 6th straight win. The defense allowing just a field goal int he first half.

Both teams played good clean football, no turnovers were committed by either side. It’s just the Cowboys were able to breakthrough and score while the Jets struggle this season continue. Brett Maher was the man of the hour nailing all four of his field goals in the win, the longest being a 55 yarder, his longest on the season and his NFL career.

The Jets really were out of this game all along. The closest they came was 10-3 after a Cody Parkey field goal in the 2nd quarter, from that point on back to back field goals from Maher would make it 16-3 and put it out of reach. Quarterback Dak Prescott put the icing on the cake with a 1-yard touchdown scamper, his first rushing touchdown on the season.

The Jets on offense were stifled all game. Demarcus Lawrence continues his record pace for sacks in a season as he recorded another two, brining his total to 10 in just six games. Prized free agent addition Le’Veon Bell was held to just 44 yards on the ground.
