RUTGERS NCAA FB DYNASTY- NCAA FB12

    Background Info
Hey, what's up guys? So I'm rather new to the forums, although I have frequented OS for many years, 10 plus. I'm currently running a Dallas Cowboys franchise and Yankees franchise over in the MLB section. My first love however, and the game that got me into keeping track of my dynasties and stats was college football and the NCAA series.

I used to run dynasties on DynastyManager and DynastyCentral and I love seeing that a lot of the guys over there are still over here running franchises! It is really awesome to see. So with college football returning, I ran out and purchased a 360 and a copy of NCAA FB 12, all for 80$ and includes a 1-year warranty. I thought it was a steal. =)

Im from Jersey, big Notre Dame fan, but I like a challenge so I am going to go with the Scarlet Knights, from Rutgers. They are a 3 star program in the 2012 edition of the game, some solid players (Mohamed Sanu included), but unfortunately I do not have rosters. I am going to do my best to use real names when I update, certainly for bigger named players in todays NFL.

As for my gameplay, I will play on All-American to start, possibly a bump to heisman depending on results. I do like to keep it realistic in a sense. It has been so long since I have recruited so I will also start on All-American level difficulty for that as well.

I will keep from 10-15 players on my recruiting board at a time. To try and make it easier for myself, too.

When it comes to players leaving, I will let them go, no arguments from me, get your paper, boo boo. All transfers are welcome as well. If I feel a player needs to red shirt I will also do so.

I think that pretty much sums it up for now! If you guys have any questions or comments I am all ears. There are so many quality NCAA/NFL franchises going on, it seriously inspired me, you guys do great work!

WHAT THE!? SCHIANO RETIRES FROM COACHING, RUTGERS TO HIRE RICK ROSS

          NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (OS)
          February, 23 2011

Rutgers football has just went through what can only be described as an utterly shocking 24 hours. It all started when at around 9:30 in the morning athletic director Tim Pernetti received a call from Greg Schiano requesting a meeting within the hour. Not out of the norm, Pernetti obliged.

Moments later sitting in Pernetti's new top of the line office (funded thanks in part to Schiano's success with the football team) Coach Schiano dropped the bomb. He was retiring from coaching, moving to Vermont, and starting a tree cutting, limb chopping business. To say AD Pernetti was caught off guard was an understatement.

Schiano was currently the longest tenured head coach in the Big East and had loads of success at a program not known for it. Schiano was in the midst of building a program from the bottom. From their historic 2008 season to the consistency of reaching a bowl every season since, he has instilled virtues of hardwork and discipline.

With just months before the season Pernetti would need to find a head coach relatively quick, as spring ball was only weeks away. This is where things got crazy. Following his meeting with Coach Schiano, AD Tim Pernetti had to make an appearance at a brand new Wing Stop restaurant on campus, owned by none other than MC and rapper Rick Ross. Ross was at the restaurant as it was the grand opening.

Noticeably absent was Coach Schiano, who with his Florida connections

Rick Ross on stage in Miami. Ross was name the new head coach at Rutgers.
developed a great friendship with the rapper over the years. Needless to say, one thing led to another, conversation was struck, and before the end of the afternoon, Rick Ross was in serious negotiations to take over at Rutgers.

As Ross Represents himself, thanks to his record label MMG, Pernetti and Ross were able to talk out a deal rather quickly and without much issue. Ross has minimal coaching experience but a nice background in football. Born in Georgia, Ross played high school ball in Florida at Miami Carol City High School. He earned a scholarship and played college ball at Division II Albany State University in Georgia.

Willing to put his music career to the side, Ross is coming off the release of his 4th studio album Teflon Don. The album debuted at number 2 on the charts and has reached Gold certification. When asked about the money he would be giving up, Ross was quoted.

"Music will always be there, I can do that whenever. When will I get the chance to coach college football again? This is an opportunity I cant pass up. Coach Schiano is a great guy, I wish him the best, he left me a solid team here, and it's something I really can't wait to start".

Rutgers brings back a pretty talented squad they have Junior wideout Mohammed Sanu and Tim Wright, as well as star linebacker Manny Abreu on defense. All American kicker San San Te also looks to build his stock for the NFL before he graduates.

Spring ball is right around the corner and from there the season will be on us before we know it! The Scarlet Knights open up at home vs Ball State on September 3rd. As of now they have one ranked opponent on the schedule and that is West Virginia, who is preseason ranked 20 in the country.

How It Happened: Rutgers came out firing Saturday afternoon against the Orange. Despite slow starts in their 3 previous games, the Scarlet Knights jumped out to a quick 17-0 lead on their rival Orange.

Chas Dodd threw 2 of his 3 TD passes in the quarter, one to Mohamed Sanu and the other to junior Quron Pratt his first of the season. Two more scores in the 2nd and Rutgers would build a 31-0 lead they wouldn’t give up.

Junior middle linebacker Steve Beauharnais would add a defensive score for the Knights in the 3rd quarter after CB Brandon Jones forced a Ryan Nassib fumble on a sack. Beauharnais would scoop up the loose ball and take it 42 yards to the end-zone.

Chas Dodd and Mike Bimonte found 10 different Rutgers receivers in the win.

Rutgers was 6/13 on 3rd down today, much better then their 4/17 showing vs Ohio.

Studs: Rutgers sophomore QB Chas Dodd continues to impress HC Rick Ross and many on the staff with how fast he has taken to the offense. Dodd threw for 3 scores and 395 yards on the day. He completed 68% of his passes, a vast improvement over last week vs Ohio.

Sophomore back Jawan Jamison was injured for half the game, but still managed 83 yards and a score, his back up senior Joe Martinek filled in well with a score of his own and 73 yards on the ground.

All-Big East wideout Mohamed Sanu hauled in another 10 grabs for 179 yards as he continues to boost his draft stock. Sanu is still unsure if he will leave early or not.

Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib who leads the country in passing yards, continued his impressive senior year, the QB torched Rutgers for 375 yards and 3 scores through the air. Nassib threw the ball 48 times as a result of Rutgers stingy rush defense (74 yards on 25 carries), though he found much success. Both WR Van Chew and TE Max Beaulieu had over 100 yards receiving for the Orange.

Duds: The Rutgers pass defense was torched for the 2nd time in 4 games this season, which is a cause of concern for coach Rick Ross. Rutgers allowed multiple throws of 20+ yards downfield, and allowed a tight end to garner over 100 yards in Max Beaulieu. Despite having a relatively solid defensive backfield, they have yet to show up in bigger games (@ North Carolina, vs. Syracuse).

The Syracuse run game was stifled on Saturday and was a large part to why Rutgers won the game. Orange senior back Antwon Bailey averaged just 3 yards a carry en route to a 74 yard game without fining the end-zone, despite finding it twice vs Rutgers last season.

Up Next: With the win Rutgers is now 4-0 (1-0), gaining their first conference win of the season. They will head home and welcome Pitt (4-1, 1-0) to New Brunswick. Another big game for the Scarlet Knights and the Big East as a couple of recruits will be in attendance that have both schools in their top 5. Pitt is coming off an OT win vs South Florida, 42-35.

*Pictured* 1) Brandon Jones forces a Ryan Nassib fumble which led to a score. 2) Mohamed Sanu brings in a TD catch in the first quarter to give Rutgers a lead.

(ABOVE) 1. Players watch on as San San Te's game winner sails through the uprights. 2. Steve Beauharnais makes an interception in the 4th quarter. 3.A gang of Rutgers defenders sack QB Tino Sunseri. 4. Chas Dodd is intercepted in the end zone by Pitt CB Antwuan Reed.

How It Happened: It was a relatively slow start for both teams under the lights Saturday night. Especially when you compare things to the 4th quarter where a total of 39 points were scored. Rutgers was just lucky enough to get the ball last in what turned into a shootout, as San San Te drilled a walk-off 23 yard FG as time expired for a 38-35 Rutgers win.

Pitt held a 14-10 halftime lead over the Scarlet Knights, as senior wideout Mike Shanahan hauled in two scores, including a long 80 yard catch and run. Rutgers did have a chance to take the lead early in the 2nd, but Chas Dodd threw an interception in the end zone looking for Mohamed Sanu.

Later in the 2nd quarter, Rutgers again would have an opportunity to score, this time to tie at 14-14, but a 4th and 3 from the 7 was unsuccessful and Pitt got the ball back. Rutgers would later add a FG before the half ended.

Fast forward to the 4th quarter where things got hectic. Pitt was driving downfield with a 21-13 lead when QB Tino Sunseri threw a pass right to Rutgers MLB Steve Beauharnais who had a monster game. On the first play after the turnover, Rutgers back Jawan Jamison would scamper 44 yards for a TD and Rutgers would tie it at 21. The ensuing kickoff was fumbled by Pitt and recovered by Rutgers on the 9. Dodd would find Jeremy Deering in the end zone and just like that Rutgers was up 28-21 in less than 2 minutes.

Both defenses would take off the final frame as Pitt would tie it up at 28, just to have Rutgers again take a TD lead at 35-28. And as you guessed Pitt would march down field AGAIN and tie it with Mike Shanahan's 3rd TD reception of the day. As mentioned earlier it turned into who was going to get the ball last, and that was Rutgers. Chas Dodd led a quick :57 second drive down field after a nice 32 yard kick return from Mo Sanu. With All-American kicker San San Te the 23 yard chip shot was a walk in the park.

Studs: Rutgers junior linebacker Steve Beauharnais had the best game of his career Saturday night. Beauharnais recorded 9 tackles, 2 sacks, a FF, and an INT. He leads a solid Rutgers run defense which ranks 14th in the nation.

Speaking of rushing, Rutgers HB Jawan Jamison ran for 162 yards on the ground and a score. Jamison has rushed for 100+ yards in 3 of Rutgers 5 games this season and is crucial to opening up the pass game for sophomore QB Chas Dodd. The signal caller threw for 3 more scores today, though he did throw another end zone interception.

For Pitt, senior WR Mike Shanahan lit up the Rutgers secondary for 3 TD's. Shanahan finished with 160 yards the most a receiver has put up vs Rutgers this season. The pass defense continues to be an issue, as Tino Sunseri threw for a season high 311 yards. His precious high came last week vs South Florida (215 yards).

Pitt sophomore WR/KR Devin Street electrified the crowd with an 102 yard kick return for a score in the 3rd quarter. The return gave Pitt a 21-13 lead.

Duds:Rutgers pass defense! The only thing keeping Rutgers back from being a top notch team this season. Currently ranked 72nd in the nation in Pass D, the team can simply not keep allowing 300+ yards threw the air, if it wants to compete.

Pitt QB Tino Sunseri was billed as a dual threat, but he only mustered 15 yards on his 12 carries.

Up Next: Rutgers will enjoy some home cooking as they remain home and welcome the Navy Midshipmen to New Jersey. The two have developed a nice little rivalry over the years. After starting the season 2-0, Navy has lost 3 straight games to Air Force, #11 South Carolina, and Southern Mississippi.

                          October 15, 2011
                          New Brunswick, NJ

Rutgers and Navy battled it out Saturday afternoon and it didn't take very long to see who was going to be in control. Rutgers came in with the 14th best rush defense in the nation which doesn't bode well for a school like Navy and their triple option attack. That indeed turned out to be the case in a 20-10 Rutgers win.

From the start Rutgers looked in control. Chas Dodd found junior WR Tim Wright in the back corner of the end zone from 26 yards out on the teams first drive. Wright made a spectacular catch with a defender cloaking him, it turned out to be his only catch of the game.

Throughout the game Rutgers defense had an answer for almost every Navy play, not allowing the Midshipmen to pass midfield until the 3rd quarter. It got to the point where senior QB Kriss Proctor was forced to throw the ball, something he isn't asked to do too much. Surprisingly, the senior would find success, throwing for a season high 196 yards. He would link with WR Doug Furman for a career long 84 yard TD pass in the 4th quarter.

Rutgers tailback Jawan Jamison continues his impressive campaign, making the coaches decision to redshirt true freshman Savon Huggins a great one. Jamison would run for 126 yards on the ground and add 15 more through the air.

Navy was able to keep Mohamed Sanu in check all afternoon, however they did let junior WR Mark Harrison break free on an 84 yard screen play for a score his 4th of the season.

The Scarlet Knights forced two turnovers in todays game. Senior CB David Rowe recorded his first interception of the season in the 2nd quarter. In the 3rd quarter CB Brandon Jones sacked Kriss Proctor and forced him to fumble.

With the win Rutgers is off to a blazing 6-0 start and has by far their biggest game of their season coming up. The Scarlet Knights will head to Louisville and take on the 5-1 Cardinals. Louisville is coming off of a win vs previously undefeated Cincinnati 24-17. Cincinnati was ranked #22 at the time.

Rutgers Lands Four Local Recruits Following Win vs Navy

                            Recruiting Update

Rick Ross was excited to announce that following the teams 20-10 win vs Navy on Saturday, they had picked up four commitments from local players. These are the first recruits that Ross had essentially made contact with, a somewhat emotional day for the coach. All of the recruits are from New Jersey, three coming from North Jersey, while the other hails from the Jersey Shore and their prestigious Shore Conference.

It will be important for Ross to recruit well in NJ and keep kids in state. New Jersey always has an extremely good talent pool to chose from, its up to Rutgers to keep them here. That means out recruiting programs such as Syracuse, Notre Dame, Penn State, Boston College, Maryland and more, that have set up a pipeline feeding kids from Jersey to their programs.

Here is a quick look at at Rick Ross' first four signees at Rutgers.

Rutgers Commits For 2012 Season Recruiting - 2011

CB Patrick Johnson: The first to sign on with Rutgers was this man here. Patrick Johnson hails from Paramus, NJ where he attends Paramus Catholic. Johnson is a hard hitter with great speed and knack for knowing where his man is. Johnson is the #27 CB in the 2011 Senior Class. He also considered an offer from West Virginia before deciding on Rutgers.

CB Marcus Gatewood: Joining Johnson in the defensive backfield will be Marcus Garret. Garret another 3-star CB is the #91 ranked corner in the class. Hailing from Asbury Park High School down at the Shore, his taste for Bruce Springsteen might not hold over to well with Rick Ross. All that aside, Gatewood brings a little bit of everything to the table, size, speed, and a great vertical leap, which hopefully leads to some interceptions.

G Mike Allen:On the offensive side of the ball the 3-Star recruit comes from Rutgers backyard in East Orange, NJ. Allen was actually on a visit to Maryland this weekend when he called Coach Ross to commit to Rutgers. At 313 lbs, Allen has a huge frame to work with and will have Rutgers RB salivating when they meet him.

K Robby Harrell: With All-American kicker San San Te graduating this season, Rutgers will need to bring in a new leg. They may have found him in Harrell. Another Jersey native, Harrell a supremely accurate kicker, has yet to miss a kick in his high school career at Don Bosco Prep. The 2-star kicker considered Michigan State and Virginia Tech, but had not received offers.

The Scarlet Knights were handed their first loss of the season on Saturday as they lost a defensive battle to the Louisville Cardinals on the road in Papa Johns Stadium. The Cardinals have now defeated two straight unbeaten teams as they defeated Cincinnati last week. HB Vic Anderson ran for two scores in the 4th quarter to secure the win and help move the Cardinals to 2-0 in the Big East and now the only unbeaten team in Big East play.

Both teams had nothing to show offensively in the first three quarters of play. Louisville held a 3-0 lead at the half. Rutgers had an opportunity to score in the first quarter but Chas Dodd was intercepted by Louisville's Jordon Paschal inside the 20.

Rutgers would switch up their game plan in the 3rd quarter and run the ball more. It would pay off when Joe Martinek had a short 5 yard TD run to give Rutgers a brief 7-3 lead. Unfortunately Louisville would answer right back with a 76 yard drive of their own, capped by Vic Andersons first of two TD's in the half.

In the final frame both teams would combine for 32 points, with Louisville going up 28-14 at one point. Louisville QB Will Stein would find WR Damian Copeland for the game winning score after a beautiful Josh Bellamy punt return and a Rutgers 15 yard penalty. Copeland led all receivers with 91 yards.

Rutgers Mark Harrison would add another long 75 yard score to his resume in garbage time to make it a respectable 28-21.

The teams combined for 8 sacks, netting in over 50 yards lost.

Things won't get any easier coming up for Rutgers as they head home and welcome the West Virginia Mountaineers to New Jersey. The Mountaineers got smoked on the road last week by Syracuse. At one point West Virginia was ranked 24th in the country, but now they sit at 4-3, and are 0-2 in the Big East.
