Ah ok, i see they sent it by fedex and gave me that tracking id, the games (PS3+Vita) are already in Paris on their way to Spain.

Will be here on Monday... too bad i have a business trip on Monday until Wednesday and won't be on time for me to carry it in my Vita

How did you guys get the VG+ DHL shipping id? I asked for DHL and paid for it, my order says shipped, but i have not received the DHL tracking code... hope they didn't screw it and sent it by mail by mistake.

You should have received a second email from DHL with tracking info. Check your spam folder in case it's there.

Like every year, it's been awesome, some might call it sad, to share the same amount of excitement for a video game. We just need to get more people to buy it so we actually get it released over here, as well.

I will definitely be posting impressions. The game is installing. There is 5GB mandatory install and a 10GB optional install. The games asks you which one you'd rather go with. The mammoth 10GB install promises improved loading times. Let's see how that works!

In the meantime I fired up the vita version. Mets vs Texas. First impression was: "it doesn't look as good as I thought it would". Don't get me wrong it is impressive nonetheless but it's like playing a pixelated version of its bigger brother. That's about the only thing and it doesn't bother me. Just not as polished as other Vita games I've played.
Secondly, analog controls are much harder to get used to. Not sure if it's a vita-only thing or if it will be the same with the PS3 version. Throwing my warm-up pitches with Santana, I didn't throw a strike. I actually really like that, as the pitch count increases and the chance of walks is higher. Hope it's the same in the PS3 version.
Have only played 2 thirds of an inning so I guess there'll be more to report. If you have any specific q's, let me know and I'll try to answer them before my wife gets out of bed and we start our normal ( ) routine.

edit: Just got out untouched of a bases loaded jam in the first with Santana. Make no mistake people, the vita version is the real deal. Actually, the pixels aren't as bad as they looked first. PS3 version finished installing and is showing a short film about the race for a spot in the playoffs from last year with what sounds like Jimi Hendrix in the background. Longer than in previous years.

First Impressions PS3 Version:
* I'm getting acquainted with the menus and whatnot. The loading times really did improve. It feels much faster and responsive than ever before. Will start checking teams and other minor aspects before playing an exhibition game. Any requests?
* The game has an online pass. That's a bummer. That means you'll only be allowed to play with one psn account online. And it seems that in order to enjoy the cross platform saves you'll have to be using an American psn account. Not confirmed yet but not sure if I want to test this much as that might mean either a) having to buy an online pass even though I bought the original version or b) having to buy the game again. No panic yet, though, I'll try to ask around and see what the final word on this is.

That is actually a question I have, too. I am going to try and gather as much info as possible before testing much re: cross-platform saves. Like I said, the online pass kind of makes me think twice before testing much.

About the game, I've played 4 1/2 innings Marlins at Citi against the Mets. Ball physics are great like evryone says, there is this weight to the ball when is hit that makes it better than before. However, what's impressemd me so far is how good the sliders seem to be out of the box this year. I'm playing on HOF and the pitch count is very realistic. Also, the number of balls have gone up. Playing against Zambrano, so it might be different against an ace. The game is 1-0 thanks to a rough first inning from Santana, but after that he's dominated and has struck out seven in 5 innings.

Let me know if you have any othee q's. Especially, any Mets fans here? I play with the Mets a ton and have noticed some minor changes to the uniforms, etc. Park has the new dimensions but the commentators still talk about the spacious outfield. There was one comment about Bay taking advantage of the new dimensions but there are more old comments than new so far.

Good question. If I were to use the online pass on my UK account, would it actually work?

I dont see why not but if its a UK account I could see there being some connection issues with US players etc.

Any ideas?

Anyone know what the collisions are like. SCEA seemed to mention it quite alot but there has been no real footage of it. Are all collisions now physics based or just base collisions?

Congrats mate! Yeah Im hoping you can transfer the save just using the USB rather than the online cloud. If not I'm going to have to change my Vita to a US account.
