How do you like the new Forum look & feel ? [poll]

it's chaotic how bad the boards are. every post you make, you get an error. the post count is almost non existent in some really popular MLB show threads that used to get a few pages a day. any chance we can revert back?

Can anyone post without getting an error? Every post I have I get the error even though it posts anyway.

And I found out that I have to cancel after I post (with the error) or else the quotes stop working and add up at the top of the page.

I feel like there's almost 2 different browsing experiences going on here based on what people are describing. I'm seeing way less ads than the old forum on my PC and Android Phone's Chrome Browser. I feel like the ads were what used to really slow down the old forum for me. The only ad i see now is a big banner at the bottom that I can easily X out of.

I can't say the old forums were ever that slow to me, but the rest of what you say matches up with my experience (trying on PC and iPad); there's one banner ad at the bottom and that's it. Haven't had any of the login issues others were, and outside of a couple times the boards have been quick to load and get around. But I'm a pretty simple poster - just basic text, sometimes a Youtube embed or posting in the "Photographic Side of..." game threads. I've held back on posting pics because the new boards compress them more than I'd like, but otherwise it's been a smooth transition for me.

I've posted without getting the error a couple times, but the majority of the time it's the same as you said, I get the error but it posts anyway. I also have that problem multi-quoting where It'll only quote one person in the comment box while still at the top of the page accurately counting how many posts I've quoted.

If your quote doesn’t show up, hit cancel at the bottom of the page. This clears all quotes. Go back into the thread and try the quote again. That’s the only way it works for me when I run into that issue.

And that worked, but it's another example of this laughable changeover.

I feel for Steve......this transition has been poorly executed by whomever he hired to do this.

It is painful to come here. I can't even get in on my phone anymore. Like absolutely impossible. My Tapetalk app died a long time ago when I upgraded to an I-Phone 14. Safari is a disaster on my I-Phone....impossible to come here now on my phone.

So hopefully all this latency we have (even on my I-Mac at home) will go away.....it's far too time consuming to browse and post on the forums right now.....I don't have that kind of time in my day to wait for pages to load.

Ad's everywhere......used to be able to shut those off......color schemes are brutal bad.

Anyway....not good....not good at all IMO. I am willing to wait till it all gets sorted out. I have made many great connections here over the last 15 years or so. But I am on a temporary hiatus until it does get sorted out and fixed.....it's simply not working for me in an efficient smooth manner.

It's too hard to sort thru without waiting around for pages to load.

My first attempt to quote. I have a IPhone 16 and use Duck Duck Go as my browser. It loads fairly quick. There was times the old website was terribly slow as well.

I don’t know if going from Safari to a different browser will help you or not Michael. Might be worth a try.

It's growing on me. Tapatalk is working which allows me to use my phone to be on here.

It looks like notifications are working for if someone quotes you which is what i was hoping for (I didn't like that the old forum didn't have this and I would post in threads and forget about them). However, the process of checking notifications is a little cumbersome. You have to click on Message Center and go to Notifications to see them. I've been on other forums when you would just click the Notifications at the top and it would drop down to show you all your notifications. Much less steps. Just some constructive criticism if that's possible.

Not a huge fan of the dark, like the light theme better. But overall think it's a much needed update. The old forums were feeling ancient. LOL

I haven't seen a single ad. I am using a adblocker, always have (so maybe that's why) but the old forums recognized that and not let me view the forums till I turned it off. So just assumed the new forums don't have any ads...yet. LOL
