At least they have the old timer gloves. It would be good if you had the options regarding helmets. The players in Storylines being from 1920s do not wear helmets.

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
Any edit to an SDS created player won't be right. But if you create a player from scratch it will be correct

Had the roster maker created the player as a CAP and swapped them to the Yankees, then the name selected should work. The edit player piece has nothing to do with it since every player has some sort of commentary attached to it since they have full minors now. Probably something for roster makers to have to look at now since the old way of overriding SCEA CAPs won’t work since they actually are all tagged with commentary names by default.Comment

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
As a follow up, I tested this out on the current roster I’m using from one of the roster makers here. I created Colin Houck from scratch and swapped him with the one that the roster makers used (overwrote JT Schwartz), and all of the announcers said his proper name. Did the same for JT Escarra as well and that also worked.
So it’s just a matter of creating the player as a true CAP and then swapping them over using Player Movement instead of overwriting players that exist already.Comment

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
Originally posted by MiracleMet718Ah I forgot he wasn’t available in the original roster and didn’t get added until the opening day roster. So I assume you are using a custom roster where they just overwrote another player (in this case Omar Martinez who was the AA catcher on the default roster). Same thing happens with Colin Houck in the roster I’m using since he overwrote JT Schwartz.

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
Originally posted by knich1Yep..using FFTR roster and that is exactly the name he is called. Good catch!
So I plan on finding out which of their players they overwrote, creating the new player from scratch based on what the updates were, saving them down as an export. Then I’ll overwrite those players with my CAP version and it should fix it. Will test it out and see if that works. Def a pain to do but I don’t mind doing it if I get the right names in for the non-SCEA CAPs.
Edit: also the import method is better because it doesn’t mess up the 40-man/MLB roster.Comment

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
The import method looks like it works well. I have started to recreate my players. Will I be done before the stadium vault is fixed? Time will tell.

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
An additional benefit of using imported created players is that the correct players are indicated as rookies. When one edits an existing minor league player and puts him in the MLB roster, the program will label him a rookie regardless of whether you indicate a number of years mlb experience in the edit.

Re: Name audio is wrong for custom players
Yes. If you want to create a historic or special MLB player with one or more years of prior MLB service:
1. If you take an existing minor league player and edit him, he will be labeled a rookie and his old name will be called out ignoring your edit of his name voice file and service time.
2. If you use "create a player" , save him and then import him over a player on the roster, then edits of his name and service time work correctly.
