Some very questionable decisions this year.

Never thought I’d be saying this but I finally have a problem with the HR camera. Unlike others I’ve actually enjoyed it over the years even though I do agree there should be an option to turn it off. But the camera facing the hitter HR camera is horrendous. Who in the world would rather see the player instead of where the ball is going? This view is for replays of anything.

I also don’t know why they got rid of the bullpen camera, and not only is the bullpen just a boring menu, it is awfully designed making it difficult to see who is warming up in the list and where the cursor needs to be with it being just a line under their name.

Stuff like this makes me feel new employees and directors are being hired at SDS that aren’t gamers and aren’t fans of baseball.

    MLBs Commissioner hates baseball

So maybe he's taken over hiring @SDS?!

I've learned to tolerate the HR camera. although I still don't like it. But I hate, hate, hate the bullpen warmup this year. It was great how it was, and I don't see the purpose of removing it. I agree it's boring this year, and hard to tell what is what.

I actually kind of like the home run camera. It’s a refreshing change to the presentation even in fast play mode, where those tweaks are usually less evident.

That said, I’d agree that the new quick menus are frustrating. I keep fighting my old instincts and I’m really not sure what the benefit is.

I don’t get who decided it was a good idea to not let us see the bullpen. Somebody made an AWFUL design decision.

Still not a fan of the HR camera, and all I ask is they give us the option to disable it, or even modify how frequently it is used.

I really hate the new bullpen screen. I've gotten used to it, but I'm not a fan.

HR camera is actually bad. Right? No one can deny it.

Resources. Plain and simple. Its assets they don’t have to dedicate resources to. Let’s face it. DD is king, and it’s pretty much a card collecting simulator with arcade gameplay. Those guys hate the fact that they have to use their bullpen much less want to see those guys warming up. Don’t believe me, just go over to Reddit and half the threads are guys complaining about having to use their bullpen in DD. SDS simply decided to relocate those resources elsewhere.

The front HR camera is by far one of the worst stylistic design decisions. There really is no arguing it as it contradicts fundamental rules of cinematography. I find in this years game I’m hitting too many HRs (I do use the Yankees) which makes it worse as I see it at least once or twice per game and it absolutely ruins what should be a great moment.

I love how good the CPU is at hitting this year, but this horrible camera that lacks an option for no good reason paired with the lack of sounds of the show just doesn’t immerse me as much as some of the past titles.. it may sound to some that I’m being too dramatic with that camera, but I dislike it enough that it’s beginning to ruin my overall experience

I'm assuming they removed the need to waroved the bullpen camera because they removed the need to warmup pitchers (online).

Does it make sense? Not really.

Will it be re-introduced as a "new" feature some year down the road? Wouldn't shock me.

I didn't see this attitude. Saw more than a couple posts asking if bullpen guys came in already warmed up, and a bunch of people discussing what bullpen arms they've had success with though.

I actually didn't see anyone complaining about having to use their bullpen altogether, but with so many people playing the game I'm sure there's at least one guy out there, so I'll give you that one?

We can just say SDS made a weird UI design call here without trying to find a DD angle to it.

This is true. MLB needs to reinstate bud selig and drop the Ad patches/garish nike swoosh/ghost runner/pitch clock/strike zone box/instant replay/umpire hand check/pickoff limit/26 man roster/universal dh/etc also injured list should be renamed back to disabled list and also diamond sports should cancel the fan duel naming rights and should have bought the rights to use the fox sports net branding, thank you.

Bud Selig did love steroids and lockouts.

This argument doesn’t make sense since this already existed in game. Designing a new bullpen page/UI is more work than simply keeping what was already there.

Just a heads up for those who feel strongly about removing the new hr front cam there is a good thread on the show site and someone from sds confirmed they will be passing feedback to the team.. fingers crossed they address the calls for an option or to remove the view… hop on the thread and keep it alive!
