Re: PS4 stadiums built from scratch!!! speculations and hopes

For US Cellular Field, I'd like to see actual stat line on the LED scoreboard on the batters eye, and not just scrolling logos. It's a bigger deal than most stadium details because it's ALWAYS in the view.

And a minor thing, but something that would help the stadium feel more real is if the grass had the lines in it like it does in real life. The Sox have the best groundskeeper in American sports, yet our field in The Show looks pale and the lines are all sloppy. But other than that, it doesn't look too bad. Here is comparison shots....

    Real US Cellular Field:

The Show '13 US Cellular Field:

EDIT: Also, a real stat LED board in LF with the lineups would be nice, instead of just "WELCOME TO US CELLULAR FIELD"

All good ideas considering you didn't mention the most obvious problem with US Cellular. Since they are rebuilding the stadiums from scratch it all shouldn't be a problem!!!

What's the most obvious problem? I don't get it.

The false color of the stadium beyond the left-center field bleachers. Look beyond the right-center field bleachers, you'll see the differences.

Oh, you mean the walls and pillars that aren't actually there. Yeah, I didn't quite notice that, but you're right, there is definitely no solid walls back there.

Now that I look at the comparisons between the real/ps3 stadium the foul poles look really tall.

You know, you're right. I mean part of it is probably a perspective/camera thing, but the virtual foul pole towers over anything else in the stadium, and is the same height as the lights. A pretty big difference from the photo.

Yeah now that you mentioned it, those are huge.

Yeah, I noticed that as well as there not being any sort of wall like the one you see behind home plate, but I didn't find those differences important enough to bring them up. I'm guessing the foul poles may be taller in all the stadiums simply to make sure that no virtual ball can travel over the tops of them because the game may not know how to process that call. So they probably figured they will make then extra tall so any would have to hit the pole or miss it, leading to a black and white call in the gaming code.

Just a guess though. Maybe Russell or another Dev can shed light on that.

I remember when FatPitcher first mentioned all of the little things that were going to be in World Series Baseball 2K3 and he mentioned there would be traffic on the bridges in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Although the former would have been technically inaccurate, I just thought it was such a neat little addition. Twelve years later, it would be nice to see attention drawn to things outside of the stadium again (if they're shown).

Actually, having traffic on the bridge in Pittsburgh would be inaccurate. They close the bridge for all games to allow pedestrians to walk across to get to the stadium. Now, if you showed a bunch of people walking toward the stadium on it early in the game, and a bunch of people walking away from the stadium when it's a blow out and the stadium is emptying, THAT would be so real it's unreal

EDIT: Nevermind, you already said the former would be inaccurate. I struggle with former vs. latter sometimes :P

For those of you who have been to PNC or follow the Pirates, how cool would it be to have the gateway clipper boat come by and blow it's horn? I'd also like to see the blue lighting on the rotunda, stadium lights, and Clemente bridge.

The parrot raising the Jolly Roger after a win would also be really sweet.

My hopes are for better crowd AI where they interact with foul balls better and more diverse vendors throughout the stadium.

You mean you don't enjoy the consistent animation of the fan falling out of the stands trying to grab the foul ball?
