If you are talking about playing it a Best Buy kiosk or something. There has never been an issue with people who play the game and reporting back your thoughts. Hell I think I did this one year and posted some game play vids, not as proof, but just to show others something while they were are work or whatever.

Actually there has been an issue with that although that particular moderator seems to have moved on. Names of generated players on default rosters would only be known by someone who had played the game but that isn't or wasn't sufficient to prevent a banning. Not everybody has a video camera.

If things have now changed then that is a change for the better but speaking for myself, I never post anything about this game until after it has been released.

But if you joined OS in April 2013, wouldn't the last BB kiosk display for The Show have happened before then?

I'm confused.

I mean no harm. Just kind of unsure how you'd know of a specific banning incident that had to have happened before April 2013.

You can read/follow the forums without officially joining (except for the non-sports ones, I think). I used to check out the baseball forums for probably over a year before I actually joined OS, so it's certainly possible to know things that went down before any "official" join date.

Yeah, the game and sport specific forums are visible to non-members. The non-sport, console, entertainment, etc. forums are only visible to members (or at least that's how it used to be, it's been ages since I actually went through the act of signing out )

Search function can work wonders and the phrase was best buy kiosk or something. Several users of this forum claim to have seen the game, none of them played it at best buy. They used the "or something" method of seeing the game. :-)

I repeat, only someone who has seen the game would be able to post names of generated players on default rosters and that would be easy to confirm and would seem to be irrefutable proof but was not accepted as proof.

My advice to anybody would be to wait until after release date to post an impression unless you are perfectly clear as to what the moderators will accept as proof.

I don't think there's Best Buy kiosks this year. But I'm pretty sure we let people post impressions who played the game on there.

I'm sure some of my comments yesterday in one of these threads had something to do with this thread being created. There was a rude poster who pretty much called out the guys who make the OSFM rosters, and he did it in a very rude way. I normally keep my mouth shut when stuff like that happens, but I was just trying to stand up for all the roster makers, who 99.9% of us know do incredible, time consuming work. In no way was I trying to police anyone else. Anyways, I should have just kept my mouth shut and not have said anything. Lesson learned, sorry everybody.

There were some places I never thought I would have to post this...

From now until this post is unstickied, IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT bans will be handed out for any infractions in The Show forums. A few examples that will get you banned include, but are not limited to:

• Attacking other users (let me add that this INCLUDES attacking a user who has posted a constructive criticism of the game because you think you police this forum and not the moderators)
• Trolling (Explained in the TOS in Steve's Forum)
• Inciting post riots (Akin to yelling 'Fire' in a movie theater. Claiming you have the game when you do not. Claiming you know things about the game that you don't actually know)
• Being a jerk (Common sense, really. Think before you push the 'Post' button.)

I hate posting these threads, but the forum has become abysmal on both sides of the coin. People can't post a negative reaction to the game with the 'cavalry' coming to attack the poster, not his thought. And some of the negative posters just can't seem to post constructively.

It ends now, either with everyone shaping up, or a lot of people being shipped out.

I am leaving the thread open to discussion from anyone who wishes to post. You will not be banned for expressing your opinion in this post, and as long as you do it in a civil manner.

So in my experience with posting on the OS forums is that there are some people that still stealth troll and sometimes blatantly troll newer people on here, it gets annoying to read when it gets directed towards me but it gets downright infuriating watching it happen to other OS users who are just being curious or maybe criticise Mlb The show in a way that some on here may not like, i hope the rule stopping this will be enforced to greater efficiency so that some people get the point that its not ok to degrade and humiliate people, thanks.

Unfortunately many of the people who do denigrate those who have anything bad to say about the game are also well respected members of the community and have what one could consider "forum tenure." I've mentioned a few things this year and been lambasted for it by a few members with no repercussions whatsoever. I've learned to deal with it.
