Dunno about Hedges, but you could nab Grandal.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey Gagnon, I think it's just that Hedges is too highly regarded in SD, especially when the Padres aren't in a position to contend for a few years. AC mentioned Grandal, he's a pretty nice pickup. He could at least be a young placeholder until you find someone else more available.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Padres are really, really bad, and are in no position to trade away top prospects. Hedges calling is obviously his defense - is that something you are interested in (a defensive minded catcher)? If so, maybe check out James McCann from the Tigers.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I spent WAY TOO LONG on this! Feedback appreciated!!!
My team: Houston Astros
Year: 2015 (Season 2)
Record: 44-47
Playoff outlook: Not very good. I have an outside chance at the WC and the division is just out of the question. Texas is 12 games up and their team is loaded. I'm 3 GB in the WC but I just had a stretch of beating up on teams worse than me.
My goals: I'm looking to get the most value for the future while giving up some veterans. I'm looking for something that could happen but the #1 goal is fairness.
Team needs:
Bullpen help! My bullpen is just terrible. Give me a couple live young arms and I'll be very very happy. My guys just do not close the door. My team ERA greatly suffers because of their poor performance. I know bullpen prospects aren't traded for much but damn I need some guys. My system has absolutely nothing to call up and experiment with either.
Outfield prospects: I could use a player or two in my system that has the potential to be a MLB starter at the OF position. I have George Springer @ 81 OVR and then it drops off to 73 OVR.
Players on my trade block:
1. 1B/3B/LF/RF Jesus Guzman | 30 yrs old | D POT | 69 OVR | 2 years @ 750k/year
SpoilerStats: .267 AVG- 19 HR - 50 RBI - .283 RISP - .512 SLG% - .331 OBP
Why trade? His value is maxed out right now. He's #4 in AL in HR's and on pace for a .265/35/90 type season.
Suitors:
Diamondbacks - Martin Prado struggling at 3B with .254-9-32
Dodgers - Juan Uribe @ 3B right now hitting .255-8-44
Royals - Moustakas hitting .230-9-40 & they need a DH in the worst way as Sogard is their DH hitting under .200
Blue Jays - Edwin was hitting .296-23-53 but he's done for the year (MCL). Daric Barton is their new 1B and he is terrible (.240-2-12)
2. C Jason Castro | 27 yrs old | B POT | 81 OVR | 5 years @ $3.9M/year
SpoilerStats: .236 AVG - 10 HR - 36 RBI - .225 RISP - .394 SLG% - .286 OBP
Why trade? My #3 pick can play C and has an MLB ready bat, is faster, and a switch hitter. His ETA is 2016 and I have a couple guys who can fill in until he's ready. Castro is very nice but he's struggling a bit for me but his production is enough that I think somebody would take him on hoping he can pick it up. He hasn't regressed at all.
Suitors:
Rays - Jose Molina is hitting .242-3-24 and they have no other C's
Diamondbacks - They are 53-40 and their catcher Montero has no pop at the moment. (.273-3-29) This is a stretch need for them. Might not be a fit
3. LHP Brett Oberholtzer | 25 yrs old | C POT | 80 OVR | 1 year @ 580k
SpoilerStats: 7-4 record - 106.2 IP - 67 K - 3.80 ERA - 1.49 WHIP - .265 BAA - 111 H/48 BB
Why trade? I have a couple guys who could make the jump and start some games in the second half for me. Oberholtzer is a decent pitcher but he's rated 80 and about to make a good bit more in his next contract. He is a guy I could unload. I don't know if his current stats are attractive enough to make him a desirable asset though.
Suitors:
Yankees - Phelps & Nova are their #4/5 and both are around 6 ERA and have a W/L of 8-18 combined. They could definitely use an arm and they'll re-sign him to at least be a 4/5 guy long-term.
Blue Jays - J.A. Happ is 4-9 with a 5.03 ERA. Definitely on the fall. RA Dickey regressed to a 64 OVR and he's about done with. They have Stroman to call up but nobody else is close. I'm sure they'd like at least one LHP in their rotation as well.
4. 3B Matt Dominguez | 25 yrs old | C POT | 77 OVR | 1 year @ 580k
SpoilerStats: .283 AVG - 13 HR - 60 RBI - .464 SLG% - .348 OBP - .364 RISP
Why trade? I'm torn here. Do I get the max value for this guy right now? He's about to become a FA and I don't know what he'll demand. He's been RED hot and is top 5 in RBI and will likely hit 25+ HR with 100 RBI and his average is rising quickly. The #1 overall pick for me in 2014 is a 3B prospect and his bat is comparable and he's a LHB BUT his D is nowhere close to Dominguez. I don't know if the 18-year old prospect will be ready at any point next year but I don't know if I'll be able to afford Dominguez. I'm leaning towards keeping Dominguez and just finding another spot for the prospect to play...or maybe use him as a DH/fill in guy in the future.
Suitors:
Diamondbacks - Martin Prado struggling at 3B with .254-9-32
Dodgers - Juan Uribe @ 3B right now hitting .255-8-44. They'd be willing to spend $$$
Royals - Moustakas hitting .230-9-40 & they need a DH in the worst way as Sogard is their DH hitting under .200
Yankees - They don't even have a 3B in the bigs. Their IF is a complete mess with no farm system hitters close to ready. They are 0.5 games up in the division and they would overpay dearly to win now. They'll also sign Dominguez long-term
Blue Jays - Edwin was hitting .296-23-53 but he's done for the year (MCL). Daric Barton is their new 1B and he is terrible (.240-2-12). They can stick Dominguez at 1B

Castro to TB for Barrera/Yates/Riefenhauser or 2 of the 3
Oberholtzer to TOR for Lindsay/Davis
Dominguez to LAD for ??? Would love to hear some ideas as they have the best pieces. His production could net me some solid guys in my opinion + his fielding is amazing. Seager is hitting great but his fielding is terrible and Dominguez is doing work in the MLB, not AAA.
If the TOR ideas above don't work I think Dominguez to TOR is another good fit. They have some nice pieces to try and replace Edwin. I think LAD would overspend the most to get him as they want to win right away. Plus they'll have the money to re-sign him as a long-term option.SOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

Without going through everything, here's some input and suggestions.
Trade Joel Guzman to Washington for Ryan Perry or Cole Kimball depending on what they look like in 2015.
What you suggested with the Royals and Blue Jays aren't fair.
Trade Castro to Tampa for one of the bullpen arms you mentioned and Brandon Guyer (to give you a 15/15 OF).
Dominguez is an interesting fit for the Dodgers. Aim for fireballer Jose Dominguez in return to get a good bullpen piece to build on. Add Ross Stripling or Chris Reed along with Dominguez for Dominguez. Get Zach Lee in the package as well if you send Castro to LA instead of Tampa.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Oh my lord. Best post in the entire thread.
For Guzman, I'm thinking the Royals are the best fit. The Jays are a nice fit but they usually stay internal. Dodgers would go for someone with a bigger name and the D-Backs are probably fine with Prado. Guzman's a great fit for the Royals though. I'm thinking you could nab Bubba Starling or Jorge Bonifacio as your outfield prospect. Bubba fell out of favor a lot and Bonifacio is pretty okay. For your reliever, if you don't mind the injury proneness, Danny Duffy could be really good out of the pen. If not, Tim Collins fits.
Jason Castro has always been a fit for the Rays. Mikie Mahtook is a perfect fit for your outfield, so is Andrew Toles. For a reliever, Mike Montgomery could fit really nicely. An outside stretch could be Toronto. If you wanted to take Navarro back, you could nab DJ Davis and a reliever. Word is they like Castro.
Brett Oberholtzer's peripherals are pretty bad, haha. I'd send him off to the Yankees cause I wouldn't want him if I were the Jays. Jamie Feliz is fine.
Jays would move for Dominguez. You could get Davis or Nay + Tirado. That is, if you decide to move him. I'm not sure if I would."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just entering June in my Mets franchise, and the White Sox offered me Courtney Hawkins for Bobby Parnell. I'd say it's fair, as Parnell's value is a Low B and Hawkins' is a High C, but it's not realistic as the Sox are in last in the AL Central.
I like Hawkins, and I was wondering if there's anything I could give the Sox to make this deal more realistic?Comment

Jon Niese or Dillon Gee and keep Parnell?
Or you meant adding something to Parnell? How about Domingo TapiaFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Thanks for the feedback AC.
I really like the Guzman for Starling move and I'm going to pull the trigger on that. They lead the Central by 6 games and they are definitely in need of a bat in the lineup. They can sacrifice Starling without hurting their system.
The players you named on TB are no longer there. Would any of the guys I named be workable? I would definitely like to move him and would entertain the Jays as well but I have to see their current C situation.
I will probably keep Oberholtzer and Dominguez.
