Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Another start of 2015 question.
Cubs roster has promoted, Baez (2B), Russell (3B), Bryant (RF) and Alcantara (CF), Soler (LF) to start Opening Day.
M. Olt (74/B) is on the bench and only hit .262 with 12 HR's last season well starting most the year at 3B.
I would like to deal for him and try him at DH, as I currently don't have anyone really. Also figure he could occasionally play 3B for Seager against tougher lefties.
I have heard many people say he is worth PTBNL or cash at this point in his career, but was the spreadsheet still says 2 Low B's.
The Cubs currently don't have a CP (they are using Strop), and I have Danny Farquhar (79/C) (former CP with 16 saves in 2013) who pitched well in my setup role last year registering 4 saves and a 2.74 ERA and this spring had a K/9 of 11.18 or another thought is SP E. Ramirez (82/B) who went 4-5 with a 4.60 ERA last year for me in spot starts but was 12-3 in AAA. Ramirez's overall would make him the Cubs best SP in their Rotation (Wood-81,Strailey-79,Jackson-78,Arrieta-76).
I figure I could do both which would fit the spreadsheet, but based off of opinions I have read here, it seems like it would be a overpayComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Fielder is out for the year, and like IRL(I'm in June) I just injured Moreland... Wieters also injured...(I have done most of the real life injuries) keep in mind S-Jo is 1.90 ERA and 124 K's through 94 IP (no one said it's unrealistic to trade him, I'm trying to open a spot up for the beloved Gausman). Right now I'm seeing S-Jo/Pearce(depth piece) for Odor?Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok so I sort of suck at doing trades so I wanted to know what you guys thought of these trades I came up with during the off-season.
McCann to White Sox for Courtney Hawkins (21yrs, 56ovr, 89 potential)
Ivan Nova to Texas for Nick Williams (21yrs, 60ovr, 81 potential) or to the Angels for Ramon Ozuna (19yrs, 61ovr, 82 potential)
Nova could be the #5 in either rotation.
Any advice welcomed and thank you.
I think the McCann trade makes sense only if the Sox are ready to compete next year. Otherwise I don't see why the White Sox would do it.Comment

Just give them Farquhar and another high or mid C potential guy.Comment

S-Jo/Pearce sounds like a great fit. That is of course if Pearce is providing some sort of value to the lineup. Do you have Profar out for the year as well? That makes things more tricky with Odor I guess since he and Sardinas have provided good depth this year in Profar's absence.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Cubs claimed Hamles on waivers in real life I see.. Been in Cleveland the last 3 days so thats some interesting news.
I guess I wasn't thinking too poorly about them as an offseason trade partner for the Phils haha.. Doubt anything gets done before the 48 hours are up right now though.
Wonder what they're discussing. My guess is Ruben is demanding Rizzo, Bryant, and Castro and then hanging up on Theo... Cubs could really put together the kind of package the Phillies could use to rebuild that minor league system, even without those 3 names I posted.Phillies | A's | Michigan State | Browns | Chelsea FC | BruinsComment

With Barney gone and Alcantara/Baez up in the show, I'd look at Castro as the main piece coming back for Hamels. (Rollins would be shipped out of Philly during the winter). I could see an OF bat like Jorge Soler being included as well. Someone that can contribute fairly soon in Philly.
But you're right. Ruben's probably asking for the moon and a big chunk of the Milky Way...Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
