Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm looking for advice. I've followed the thread a lot but need some input. I'm starting a White Sox franchise and I want to add another SP or 2 plus some bullpen. I'm not looking for real as I know no trades would happen this early. Any ides on who do go for? I'm also wanting to bring back Buehrle.. Thanks in advanceComment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Padres offered the Cubs Robbie Erlin, Matt Wisler and Rymer Liriano for Samardzija. Padres are leading the division by 5 games. And Cubs are on last of course.
Should i let it go through?Comment

What would you be willing to part with to acquire that 1 or 2 SP plus some bullpen?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Those specific 3 Padres player could probably net another small piece as well that'd make a contending SD better. Thinking James Russell or someone like that.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
My question is which team would be a good fit for Matt Adams and what could I get for him?
Other players I'd be willing to move either separately or in a package with Adams are Jay (who's batting over .300 right now) and Choate. Also Peralta, but seeing as this is his first season as a Cardinal (and with an average under .200) I thought it might be a bit unrealistic. After all, they paid big money to get him.
Matt Adams to Oakland where he and Moss can share 1B/DH? Not sure on what the A's would offer up in return. I'm assuming you're pretty stacked at the major league level so maybe keep stockpiling pitching talent in the minors? Either a guy like Dan Straily for the AAA Redbirds as a starting package or go lower in their system for someone like Raul Alcantara?
Matt Adams to Houston? Perfect fit IMO but to be realistic, I doubt the Astros would pay prospects for him.
Randy Choate to Boston for Ryan Lavarnway, giving you a pinch hitting bat and backup to Yadi Molina?
I'd keep Peralta around as a super sub on the IF and then flip him by the deadlineFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I would say maybe Alexi as I want to move Beckham back to his natural position. Maybe Dunn but I'm sure no one wants him. Viciedo as I have a good outfield and don't want him. I might want to move Quintana as if I get Buehrle that would mean I would have 4 left starts. I'm open to any other deals too that you might haveComment

Can Alexi play 2B? Thinking of sending him north to Toronto for Buehrle.
If Alexi is kept at 2B, the Mets are a logical fit. Aim for a guy like Dillon Gee in return? Or maybe Daniel Murphy to fill the void at 2B if Beckham moves to SS? (Heard on a podcast that Gee has like a 2.70 ERA or close to it in his last 180 IP. He's good!)
Don't know about Dunn. He's AL bound...I mentioned Oakland for Matt Adams in a previous post. Maybe Dunn could fit in there with Moss at 1B/DH. There's some good pitching to be had from the A's and you might be able to find a good arm here. He's another lefty but Tommy Milone? Jesse Chavez if you want a righty? Apologies for being a bit dry on ideas here. 37 might have some other names up his sleeve.Last edited by Totte; 05-10-2014, 12:02 PM.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

oh ok. Thank you. I'll have to look into Oakland then. I would take some young arms for my minors. I'll have to keep an eye out thenComment

You're absolutely right and I should clarify that's what I mean. No platoon, simply have one guy play 1B and one guy DH (and they could switch from game to game and get some rest)Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Figured I'd try posting in here again and see if anyone could help me out, I'm a huge Dodgers fan, but Puig just seems to keep showing up late to our games, off-field problems are persistent and I decided I am not a Puig fan and would like to trade him haha. Anybody have an idea where and who I could trade him for? I'd like to get rid of him and get someone good in return.Comment

As for the Choate trade, I don't really need a backup catcher. Tony Cruz is young, and while he isn't a particularly good hitter, he is a good defensive catcher. I'd be more interested in someone who can be Craig's backup over at first base, if I deal Adams.Comment

Re: MLB 14 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I like the idea of sending Adams to Oakland. The Astros would certainly be a good fit, but like you said, it's unlikely they would cough up their prospects.

That's the beauty of Lavarnway, he can stop some balls at 1B as well
Matt Adams to Baltimore for Zach Britton/Brian Matusz and Nolan Reimold? Reimold is just a filler for you as a bench bat and backup 1B/LF.
Britton/Matusz can be used in the rotation or from the pen.
Adams would be able to rotate between 1B/DH with the O's along with Chris DavisFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.
