Re: MLB 14 The Show Video and Screenshots - The Stadiums (PS4)
Those criticizing the the fluidity of the animation should probably wait until playing the game itself or at least seeing a 60 frames-per-second video before passing judgement. This video is displaying at 30 fps (or is it 24?), so naturally there are frames missing making it look a little more twitchy than the actual game will look.
I remember something similar happened when gameplay videos of NBA 2K14 (PS4) were released. The models looked amazing, but some were underwhelmed by the gameplay animation. Point being, it's night and day playing it at 60 fps and watching it at 30 on YouTube.
You're also seeing a compressed video, but that's another story.Comment

If Jesus doesn't pop out of the box and give me a high five I am taking it back.just kidding but who ever posted that back when all pro 2k football came out was awesome. Good point about the game not running like it would on the ps4.

I'm a little worried that when the newness of this game wears off (graphically) we won't be noticing much difference gameplay-wise from the PS3 version.Comment

On the first page, the second post or so is a youtube link, click there, then go to settings and click on 1080 for resolution. IT IS AWESOME!!!!Comment

I'm not a fan of the dugout shot. It really adds nothing to the game to show the manager and only 2 players. Plus, the manager models don't look quite right.Comment

It's still compressed
Ramone posted a few hours ago that on the Sony blog we would be able to download an uncompressed version, but then a link was posted to the Sony blog and there was no download linkLast edited by Madden's Jowels; 04-07-2014, 09:57 PM.Comment

Again, maybe for the last time I dunno.... you people need to temper your expectations. This is a brand new console. They had many systems to port over, stadiums to redo, and all the while keeping all the features in the PS3 version.
You all need to go back to MLB 07 to see what you were hyped about at the start of the PS3 gen and then sit in the corner. Developers are not magic wands that give you photorealism and animation at the drop of a hat.
I'm also sick of the animation armchair figures on this site. Do you have any idea how hard it is to make animations play right with stats, timing, etc. in baseball? No, you obviously DON'T. NDog has some of the best programmers and animators on the planet, akin to Hollywood types that get paid very well. Give Show a year or two folks. You should be proud they are even getting this out first year and that it's not some kind of new hardware abomination like early PS3 games.
I'm just really curious how people think this was supposed to be this perfect realization of baseball in the first year of the console.
MLB 07 was horrible. Okay at the time but in retrospect the game fails at all levels. We are so far ahead of this it's not even funny. The PS4 architecture itself is the only reason, IMHO, that we are even getting a game this year. If this was PS3 type complexity we wouldn't even have a version to play or it would be horribly coded.
Constructive criticism and even some whining is fine and dandy but to put it simply this is a first year game. It wasn't supposed to blow our collective minds but it may actually get close. The PS3 version to me is not playable anymore. I moved on from 720p and poor performance/gfx a long time ago. I'm just glad we are getting 1080p, 60 FPS, and I hope decent AA like most Sony titles.Last edited by ZealousMonkey; 04-07-2014, 10:02 PM.Comment
