You guys do a fantastic job, and the animations on the PS3 look about as good as they possibly could. But now that we're on a new system I'm just excited about what type of stuff you guys could do next year, and the years after that, because you guys are the best in the biz

Sounds like unrealistic expectations to me.

So it seems like they spent all this time on grass but didn't spend much time on grass cuts in the stadiums. I see TF again has that terrible cross pattern that I have no idea why it's there anymore. It's been over 3 years Show guys. They DON'T use that grass pattern and NEVER have lol. If they didn't have a pattern that stuck out so much it might not be a big deal.

The official website of the Minnesota Twins with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.

Pretty much been that way since stadium launched or in a close variation. And for the love of god up the saturation on your dang grass man. We don't live in an arctic wasteland in Minnesota. That grass is as green as can be at night and simply glows under the lights.

That also reminds I certainly hope they have the stripe on their grey pants at this point or I will be jumping off a cliff or two.

I don't mind when things are missing for a year or two but 3 or 4 years. Yeah that becomes a problem that prevents me from paying full price at some point. These are very noticeable details in a stadium in real life.

Nope, you are not the only one. They still haven't got the green of the grass down lol. Not even close. In some games it looks really pale still where in real life the stuff is like neon green healthy hehe. It really takes me out sometimes after playing The Show and then going to a stadium like Target Field where the grass is glowing green at night.

They really need to pay attention to colors and grass cuts for 15. And I mean seriously should be a top priority if they spent all this time on grass. Of course I want to see everything on my screen before I make final judgements. I won't be too disappointed as it looks good from here and much better than before.

Honestly tho I don't get why someone doing stadiums can't at least TRY to get a decent resemblance going. It does make the stadium look a little hokey when it's that off. No one wants perfection here. I don't care what it looks like as far as perfection is concerned. I just want a grass cut that even half resembles the real thing.

              My khronikos, how you've zealed!

I'm hoping for some of that stuff next year. I expect only a few things to go right so far. I didn't buy The Show on PS3 until '09. These things happen when you start on the next generation of systems.

Yes. As the first year on a new console, it was always gonna be. ANYONE who was expecting different was being foolish. Think of the progress on PS3 from 07 to 08. WOW. NOW think of the progress from 08 to 13.... WOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!! NOW, think how pretty it is year 1 on PS4, to how it'll be in a couple years.. yeah......WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

As someone who is coming from what, 6 or 7 years of MLB 2K, it is hard for me to comprehend any of your criticisms.

The game is EASILY a system seller (case in point here), and by far the best looking thing I've seen for the PS4.

I think it's imperative that we all not forget, that this is a GAME. It's not EVER going to be PERFECT. It won't be perfect on PS4, and it won't be perfect on PS10 either.

Haha, yeah, I am pretty used to it. I might not get this at full price this year but close more than likely. I'm a lock for next year when I hope they get a chance to concentrate on details and maybe improve franchise presentation to a good level. I still don't think a grass pattern or two for stadiums in need is out of the question for a patch though.

At any rate I forgot my old password and made this one. I thought I put my stealth suit on grrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Its next gen. Have you seen the player models in nba 2k or even maddem next gen. They changed the player models for next gen. Its not unrealistic at all for fans of the series to expect a bigger jump.

I appreciate their work with remodeling the stadiums, but I'm a person who would've of been happier if they spent most of that time instead on animations and player models( Big heads, short arms bodies we've seen on ps3).
Unrealistic for this year, yes. Madden models looked no different. They added more detail for replays, but in game during actual gameplay, they were unchanged. Basketball has 12 players on the active roster, baseball has 25 (not including minors), so that's over twice the work on the MLB level only. Arenas don't have as much detail as baseball stadiums, so they 2k has plenty of time to work on its fewer players. Player models were touched up this year but there is a plan to fully update them (see IGN Gameplay thread). While it may not have been you, the same complaints would be coming in... so what the players look better, the stadiums are the exact same! This is not next-gen! No one can deny those comments wouldn't be thrown around freely.

You're not wrong to expect it next-gen; I think you're wrong to expect them to basically build an entire baseball game from scratch in less than a year. Sports games are different than other titles. Most titles get years to build, sports only get a year. They prioritized what was feasible and what was important. I think goal #1 was it to be fully featured. With the time remaining after getting the features in, I'm guessing stadiums would be more likely to get implemented without glitches than player models. Also, don't forget they added over 350 new animations for the PS4 specifically. It's not like they completely neglected that part of the game.

Obviously we haven't played the game yet on the ps4, but I think for the first time on a new console scea wanted to start off by setting a solid foundation to build off of, by redoing the stadiums and crowds and audio it appears to me they wanted to also focus on delivering a authentic atmosphere, which apparently nba and madden games did not deliver on, I've read more negative reviews on nba 2k14 and madden than positive ( the only positive really being how good the players look but the rest of the game being crap). For me I would rather have a solid playing feature complete game from the start of a new generation rather than a crappy playing featureless game that has awesome graphics. I have every bit of confidence in that scea will address and work on all the things people want in the game that didn't make it this time around.

not to mention, it takes A LOT of work with re-building the stadiums for a baseball game. It takes a long while to build just ONE stadium, but then they have to get all the collision code right because in baseball the ball interacts with stadium walls (ball bouncing off a foul wall or hitting up into a corner) and players interact with stadium walls (corner infielders catching foul balls over a wall or an outfielder robbing a home run). OR runners "colliding" with a base to call him safe; or runners colliding with middle infielders to break up double plays... SO many examples where they have to get these things right in EVERY stadium they build. IT TAKES TIME! It takes great collision code to make all that happen. In NBA and Madden there is no stadium collision code like that, (and tbh, NBA's and Madden's player on player collision code sucks).
